please help me connect my xbox and pc to the internet at the same time???....

my boyfriend just bought me a computer and we want to be able to acces the internet at the same time as he plays on xbox live... i know we need a router, but do we need a game adapter or anything?? please help this is so frustrating. went and thought i bought a router but ended up buying a 5-port hub??....:nightmare

Well posting 3 times within 20 minutes isn't going to help you any, but anyways...

Once you have the router all should be well, just plug your two ethernet cables into the computer and the Xbox and you should be all set. You may need to fool around with your ISP, but I'm not sure, I didn't have too, but some people do.

Without a cat 5 cable,a Wireless router connected to your PC requires your box to have a wireless bridge...the bridges range anywhere from 40-100 bucks...

Sometimes, for the non tech savvy (me!) its tricky to configure your router and your bridge...without sounding too technical and embarrassing myself, its important to make sure that your router and xbox IP address are able to sync and communicate...

Another solution is just to buy a hub (or router) (10-30 bucks...netgear hubs are VERY reliable..netgear routers...not reliable but decent once everything is properly configured...caution...VERY time consuming to properly configure)
run an ethernet cat 5 cable from the back of your box to a hub channel...only drawback to this setup is that your computer must be powered on to share the connection with your box...
There are all kinds of illustrations on the web but I m sure you can talk to some of your friends who have hosted Halo LAN parties...
The hub and cat 5 cables are cheaper but the wireless router/bridge setup is cleaner and wayyyyyy cooler.
