I'm currently in the process of fleshing out the website for the Xbox 360 gaming league I'm interested in establishing. There really aren't that many out there and either way, I'm still going to be offering cash prizes and such.
The league procession is going to all take place online from the website. I will be integrating phpBB heavily where users will create their own accounts and form clans. These accounts will be one per player (like a gamertag) so retrospect progress can be tracked. Match wins and league rankings will all be tracked and displayed in each user profile and such.
But here is my question:
For each matchup, both teams/players will be able to enter their own data into the postgame results from the website. I plan on making a backend where any of the players involved in the game can add to the postgame report. Basically, the players will be recording game Wins/Losses themselves.
Is this the best way to go? In Halo 2, Bungie provided game results online and the results could even be imported automatically. However the game I'm currently looking at is Gears of War.
Are players trustworthy? Especially in a 1v1 where either player can contest the results.
I was making a thread in the forum for every match so the players can just post results to a thread pertaining to their game.
