So, I got it yesterday, and after playing it for 4 or so hours, I can say that this game is definitely all I hoped it to be. How about you guys?

Yeah This game is crack I must say I was playing it last night and didn't go to sleep until 3:30 this morning

My Agility is at 4 stars, My Strength is at 4 stars.

I can't wait until tonight. The key for leveling up your guy is in Solo mode Try not to kill the bosses or gang leaders because you need the thugs to levlel up if you kill a gang leader their gang people go away. No one to kill no orbes to collect.

And HaZarD SFD watch out for me tonight my guy is going to be hot.

I'm loving this game. I've had it for a day now and I've taken out the Los Muertos gang, and when I feel like it, I'm slowly whittling away the Volth group or whatever they're called.
I've got 2 to 3 stars in most rankings. It's fun, especially when you grab the right weapons and you get the hang of driving well.

What I don't like is the close up camera that makes you disappear. Also the fact that I die a lot because I get a grenade behind me and I can't see it.

But I love the game and I'll be playing it a lot.

Ok well. Im kinda loosing interest in this game, Dunno why! Was doing some TK the
other night with Rocket Launchers.. Was fun. Need to game it up with someone that has

Just started playing lastnight at around 9:30. Went to bed around 1. Didn't keep track of my stat increases. I know I can jump about 20ft. according to the voiceover dude. Got just over 100 orbs and killed 3 sub-bosses.

I like the game so far. Can't wait to try the online gameplay.

I still like the game.

I fear that there might not be a whole lot of story play in this game after all. I've sat down and played it for 2 nights. In those two nights I've taken out the entire Los Muertos gang and I'm one boss away from eradicating the Volk. Along the way I've collected 315 of 500 Orbs and a lot of the secret orbs. My personal stats are way up there. I think I'm a 4 in agility and a 3 everywhere else but driving skills which is a 2 still.

I think for the actual game plot, you might get a couple of days out of it if you play it from start to finish as the story dictates.

But I just get a kick out of exploring looking for orbs, driving around doing stupid stunts, taking the ramp trucks and parking them in various places, hijacking a sports car and launching it into strange places.

I like looking for cool places to climb or just drive around and create mayhem. Too bad I'm working this weekend (night shifts) I want to play Co-Op and just cruise the town looking for stuff.

I think the rocket launcher and heavy machine gun (the M249 look-alike) is way powerful. You can make quick work of the bosses like that. I also found that running over bosses kills them pretty quick too. Like that first Volk chick. I parked an armored truck ontop of her and it killed her instantly.

Fun game..it's good to get away from Rainbow Six for awhile.

if you mean the homing rockets...its the Firefly, if you mean the non homing rockets...its the Hothead, and the M249 gun is called the Harrington.

Hey all, it's been a while since I've been around here. Just wanted to say hi and wish everyone well before I jump back into the XBA forums. Before last week, I hadn't posted in over 2 years...but I was probably on here reading the boards at least once a week.

Anyways, I'm away at school until this weekend when I go home for spring break. Crackdown has been delivered to my house, where my 360 is waiting. From what you all are saying, it sounds like it should definitely be worth it. I can't wait to start playing online!

I sort of disappointed that the game is slowly winding down. I've intentionally ignored the last 4 Shai-Gen bosses so I can have plenty of thugs to mow down in various ways. I just camp out at their front door and use what I need to max whatever skill I'm looking for.
I've pegged out most of my skills, they're either 4's or maxed beyond that.

I like the Agency cars once they're pegged out. I like the SUV monster truck the most though. I could care less about the batmobile with guns.

I can't find 19 orbs, which goes to show you don't need all 500 to max your agility.

I've noticed interesting things like traffic on the highways don't go between each town sections unless you're driving next to them. If you stand around, the cars disappear and about 100 yards down the road a different car reappears.

I just wish the game was longer. Eventually I'm just going to have a 60 dollar Halo 3 multiplayer Beta.

A lot. Every time you earn a star in driving, your agency cars with the exception of the police cars upgrade themselves. They're just cosmetic changes to the cars as far as I can tell. But when you get your fourth star, the super car has guns, the SUV has a boost jump and the rig has nitrous.

I think the most useful is the SUV. You can't aim the supercar's guns unless you point the car at the enemy. The rig takes forever to stop and back up.
But the SUV is more maneuverable and really fast. It turns tight and you can run people over all day with it.

You boost your driving skills by completing races under the par time and by doing stunts. You earn driving skills the fastest by running enemies over. Do what I did. Find a boss area, take a car and just start running bad guys over. Don't shoot, don't punch, just run them over. When that car is destroyed, get another. It takes practice because they don't want to get ran over, but it works.

Actually, I think the best cars in the game are the Shai-Gen gang cars. The luxury car and the 6 wheeled truck. They're fast, strong and turn the tightest and they're plentiful.

I didn't find the SUV's wall climbing ability to be all that useful. For stunts, yes. For tactical things, no.

I take back a lot of things I said.

I just maxed out all my abilities and got the achievement. I needed driving and firearms to get filled and I found the fastest way to do it. Get the supercar when it's at 4 stars, go cause enough trouble that you get the gang hit squads after you, then start running over and shooting people with the car's guns. I just started driving up and down the street doing 180's at the end and held down the trigger and the gas. Who cares what I killed as long as people died and got ran over. After about an hour, I raised both from a 30 to max. I just kept doing it over and over.

For a little variety, I got the big rig and pissed off the gangs enough, I just drove around town running over cars.

I finally got to the top of the agency tower and then got the base jumper achievement.

I'm missing 12 orbs now and maybe 150 secret orbs.
I went ahead and finished the game for the hell of it. But I forgot to commandeer 100 gang cars before that, so I don't know how I'll get that achievement now in free play mode.

After the ending story, I guess this means theres going to be a Crackdown 2.

I finished it late last night, and I started working my night duty rotation so I won't be able to play anything for a couple of nights. I don't know what the game will be like in free crime mode. I don't regret the fun I had with the game. It probably would have been more fun playing co-op, but I never got a chance.

I liked the game. It presented a lot of good elements to the 360 and it was just fun in general.
Now, we'll see what happens. At least one thing is for sure, I have to keep the game around if I want to take a look at the Halo 3 beta when it starts.

I don't regret buying Crackdown. I regret other games, like I regret Smackdown Versus Raw on the 360 because I always had a wrestling game and I still think Raw 2 was a better game.
I regret Fight Night 3 because I get bored with it pretty quick.

But I don't regret Crackdown. Even if I pulled the trifecta and finished the game. Theres still stuff for me to do like find those god forsaken orbs and do all the races.

For whatever it's worth, Crackdown is a good diversion from playing Rainbow Six all the time.

I just like the game because it's simple to pick up and start playing. Nothing is overly frustrating, theres not a whole lot of thought going in, it's just running around and creating serious amounts of chaos. It's an instant gratification game. Theres not a whole lot of those types of games around. You can go screw off and drive around, you can go climb stuff, do stunts, or wreak havoc in serious amounts with heavy firepower. If that's not enough, you can build up your car stats and have some real fun, or you can around and beat people up.

I love complicated games like Ghost Recon and Rainbow Six. I like games that require tactics and thought. I love realism in games. However, sometimes I just want to be a bull in a china shop and tear asses apart with reckless abandon. Sometimes, I want to run towards large groups of bad guys shooting rockets and lobbing grenades, not run from them. Crackdown is a break from all the serious games making their way into the market.

dont worry man the halo 3 beta isnt out yet. as long as you have a copy of crackdown you will be able to play it when the beta comes out

It seems like I've grabbed the same ones before. I'm not sure. In some places, the buildings begin to look the same to me and I loose my sense of direction when I'm bouncing around from building to building.

I have hit the obvious places like on top of the Agency Keep, the Shai-Gen towers and the oil refinery. I'm currently running around on the beaches searching the rock outcroppings.

After that, I'll work on the car stunts. I'm determined to finish all the achievements on this game.

No, all you need is the Crackdown disk with the Halo beta in it. But you will have to have the disk when the beta comes out :)

What difficulty are you playing on? I am playing on psychotic and it sometimes takes 2 headshots even with the punisher.

I haven't tried it yet but I think he put the car up through the crack where you first get the car. If you look around where you get the car from there is a crack in the roof but like I said I haven't tried it.

I used the firefly to get the body juggler and car juggler it was easy since the firefly can shoot so fast. I got a nice downward shot on some sap's feet and it blew him skyward. I didn't really have to move much, I just laid on the trigger and then I just held him up there for awhile.

The car juggler took some effort and a few hand grenades to get something airborne enough and I did have to run towards it a bit though.

I got the stunt driver achievement on the beach with the SUV, going back and forth jumping it and using the spring jump assist going off those beach house ramps there on the Los Muerto side behind the carnival.

Still have 2 agility orbs to find and I now have 93 secret orbs to find. It's really starting to frustrate me because I have no idea where those last 2 agility orbs are and it feels like I've scoured every roof, rock outcropping and bridge in the zone area.

I've rechecked all the boss areas now.

How do you get the shot putter achievement? I've tossed all matter of things off buildings and bridges and even flat ground and I can't get that achievment.

I'm also still trying to find the perfect place to get the high jump award with the vehicles.

^ I did it on that beach on Los Muertos (sp?) with the fully upgraded SUV. It wasn't too difficult. You can also get one of those big truck ramps and set up a big jump.

I used the firefly to get the body juggler and car juggler it was easy since the firefly can shoot so fast. I got a nice downward shot on some sap's feet and it blew him skyward. I didn't really have to move much, I just laid on the trigger and then I just held him up there for awhile.

The car juggler took some effort and a few hand grenades to get something airborne enough and I did have to run towards it a bit though.

I got the stunt driver achievement on the beach with the SUV, going back and forth jumping it and using the spring jump assist going off those beach house ramps there on the Los Muerto side behind the carnival.

Still have 2 agility orbs to find and I now have 93 secret orbs to find. It's really starting to frustrate me because I have no idea where those last 2 agility orbs are and it feels like I've scoured every roof, rock outcropping and bridge in the zone area.

I've rechecked all the boss areas now.

How do you get the shot putter achievement? I've tossed all matter of things off buildings and bridges and even flat ground and I can't get that achievment.

I'm also still trying to find the perfect place to get the high jump award with the vehicles.


Lol the car jugglar wasn't to hard, all I did was take some light car up to a roof threw it off and used the firefly to hit it a few times... Way to easy XD

Oh and btw there is a crack in the roof of the place that I could actually throw the suv up so yeah you can, I don't know about the semi but I do know you can toss the car and truck up there...

That's a sweet map. Maybe by following that map to find the last 93 secret orbs, I'll stumble over the last 2 agility orbs I need.

Just throw an object off of a really tall building as far as you can. I did it by throwing a body off of one of the red Shai Gen buildings.

I'll try that then. All the buildings have pallets and stuff to toss off the roofs with and I've been chunking stuff off as many roofs as I can.

I finally finished and now I'm going for master agent. I have about 40 orbs to find and I have about 200 blue orbs to find so I'll be busy for awhile. I maxed on everything except driving and shooting. I am addicted to this game to the point that when I look at buildings in reality I wonder if my agent could get to the top using those windows. I think he can.

My intention was to take the car and the elevator to the top, drive the car around the ramps and then toss it off the building.
Well, once the elevator got to the top floor, I picked up the car and set it down to reposition it, and I got the shot putter achievement.

Still lost 2 agility orbs, Have around 80 secret orbs to find now.

Yeah, I looked at it and I think it'll be faster to just keep roaming around looking instead of looking at the map and rechecking 300 places for 220 places I've already been.

Did you know, if you take one of the little lamp poles from the top of the final shai gen bosses little lair and toss it off the top near the hidden orb at the top you can get the shot putter that way...

I wasn't aware of it. I wish I knew that before I got all into the car in the elevator thing.

I just got the chain bang - 100 barrel explosion in 60 second achievement.

I decided to get creative. I drove to the Volk side to the strip mine and took the 4 wheeled open cargo truck. I loaded it up with 14 barrels from the strip mine. The barrels stay in the truck and it's easy to do.
I drove to the Muerto's side to the beach and parked near the long row of barrels over at the observation area. Between there, the beach board walk and your rolling bomb truck, there's plenty of barrels.
Light them off, run like hell, light those off on the board walk, the truck goes and you're done.

I found one agility orb by accident, on top of the big sphere in the Shai-Gen side, I just got up there because I realized I've never been up there before. 499 done. Still looking for that one.
Found more secret orbs, up to 236 now.

Dear god, I found the 500th agility orb. Holy crap. (Without a map too)
It was nowhere where I expected it to be. I was just trying to deduce possibilities. Where I spent the most time, where I haven't spent the most time and so forth. I found 499 simply because the area wasn't familiar. It was in the Muertos side, the damn orb was on the roof of a little building, if you were on the ground, it would be just above your eye level. It was next to the highway, I must have drove past it a million times. I just stumbled on it because I accidentally blew myself up and I fell over the bridge and I saw it on my down.

Got the high altitude jump achievement by driving the Agency SUV (thanks addict16) up the Shai-Gen building again with the elevator and hopped it off the top floor ledge.
They take very little damage if any at all falling from the tops of the Shai-Gen buildings!
Took care of that.

Had to re-get the car juggler because when I last got it, I forgot to save the game when I turned off the Xbox, I just hit the power button.

Got less than 20 secret orbs left and some house cleaning to do in the game.

I still need 2 sub-achievements for the Rampage. Popping tires & blowing up 25 gang vehicles. Any advise? I tried to do the popping during a gang hit squad but took too much fire and died a few times. (Maybe some more trys will help.)

I got lucky with that one. I spawned at the Shai Gen next to the info ball. Got hit squads to came after me and bingo. All from the safety of the roof.

If I remember right, I got the sub-achievement for popping gang car tires by using the Agency supercar. I got the gang hit squads to come after me and I would drive the supercar up and down the street doing 180's at each end and laying on the machine guns as I drove. You'll pop their tires easily, plus as you drive under their cars like a wedge you can blow their tires out if you keep shooting.

I might have gotten the 25 vehicles blown up that way too, or it was that time I loaded up with the hothead, the firefly and clusterbomb grenades and went to town on a gang hit squad.

The rampage came pretty easy I recall using the supercar though.

By far the easiest way to do this is to go into a gang parking garage (below the Shai-Gen elevator tower or below Guerra's nightclub in Los Muertos) and just start popping the cars' tires. They're technically gang vehicles, and even if it is kind of cheating, it works.

Yes, it can temporarily drive up walls. The developers found the glitch and decided to leave it in there because they liked it.

I took a break from Crackdown. I still have a handful of achievements to do, but I just needed to wrap my brain around another game before I just get overly fed up with it. I almost got my 6 stunts in 60 seconds but on my last stunt (I was counting seconds in my head) I over rotated the SUV and landed it on it's side. The beach thing would have worked just fine, like we said. (Driving up and down the beach jumping the lifeguard station ramps)

I found another few secret orbs, it's starting to make me wonder what it's going to be like when I only have 1 secret orb left. Like how it took me forever to find the one remaining agility orb.

I'll probably start playing it again soon, just to keep up the work I'm putting in.

I'm still trying to get a few achievements, I almost had the rampage achievement but I died so I'll have to try again later. I'm thinking about playing Battlefield: Modern Combat like you Reclaimer for a break, lol
