if you have your xbox and pc hooked to the net through a router you can go get a program that can let you do exactly that.

No you don't need media center. Get the program and pictures, music, and video(in right format) will stream over the network.

If you want to play AVI files, or MPEG's through your TV, via the xbox 360, you will need a program called TVersity. It streams AVI's on the fly, allows you to upload your music collection, and your personal pictures from your PC for direct play through the 360.

I will also advise, if your AVI's are encoded with xvid or divx codecs, uninstall any versions of the codecs from your computer, and go find rev 801 build of FFDSHOW to manage your codecs.

The reason I don't use Windows Media Center, or Zune, is simply because they will not read any video format other than WMV's and the majority of my videos are in AVI format.

While TVersity may play any program file, it is missing some features that WMP and Zune have. I actually tried TVersity and it was not a smooth experience, so I uninstalled it. The prgram hung and seemed to make my comp slower, so.

Anyway, I've been able to hook up WMP 11 and get it to stream to the 360, but for now it's not working for me. It can't seem to see what's on my HDD, so I haven't used that feature in while, Brooklyn.
