wait, we're finally getting a Virtua Fighter game? HOLY CRAP! I LOVE YOU SEGA. Thank you, now I can put my saturn and dreamcast games back in storage. I have been waiting for this moment, please don't screw it up. I don't have any playstations (nor will I) so I'm happy.

fighting games are still my favorite genre. simply put, its the most competitive. small stage, you and the guy who you have to beat, and you're wits. its a very personal and unique genre. If you lose, you cant blame anyone on you're team, but if you win, well, the glory isn't shared. There hasn't been a really good fighting game in awhile though. Never been too much of a virtua fighter fan, too many cheap ways too fight (the everyone infinite, anyone?). I think the last great fighter was soul calibur 2. When the next street fighter or soul calibur comes to next gen, I'm totally onboard.

Of course, carguy, if you don't have anyone to play with minus the computer, well, it becomes boring quick. the only reason to play alone is to practice a new move or combination of moves and see whens the best time to execute them. other than that, fighters can be really boring unless you have someone at the same level of skill as you (which makes xbox live the genre's savior, even though a good fighter has yet to take advantage of it).
