Does anyone know if Microsoft will make the Xbox 360 Elite hard-drive available for purchase seperately?

if they did, I'd just get the core system, and buy the elite hard-drive seperately.

As stated, yes, its $179.99 in retail and you can pretty much find it anywhere. BUT, why not spend the $479.99 on an elite, rather than a core (299.99) plus a hard drive for the same price. You get black, and the HDMI capabilities even if you dont need the HDMI. You could sell the cable on ebay.

Well, I figured since a lot of video game stores (gamecrazy and EB games etc...) are starting to get used Xbox 360s, I could just buy a used core system get a warranty on it, and then buy the 120 GB hard drive, and save myself some money - plus probably get my hands on a free game or two for taking it off their hands.
