Thats awesome, pretty cool that you can go that far up into space. I'll have to try that.

The amount of detail in the clouds, having layers of clouds and how the sky gets darker as your going into space and having stars once you past the second layer of clouds is amazing.

that is pretty cool, i cant think of anything that it could be used for other then cutscenes.

and i think the reason their is no fall timer is because you cant really fall far enough on valhalla to die.

That was the one thing that bugged me about the Halo games. It's not like the game is realistic in any sense but it was weird that you can fall from great heights and not die. It's like, if your armor can protect you from mega falls, it can certainly protect you from getting shot up a bit, but hey... it's a game and the little things like that make it interesting.

But I see some tactical advantage for going up that high, but not much. If your team is winning a game and you steal their banshee, you can just keep it aloft out of reach of harm's way. Or, you can just drop in and out of high altitude and air support and it would probably keep your banshee from getting shot up too badly.
But the time it takes to get way up there pretty makes it useless to do that in a really competitive game. I certainly would be pissed if our banshee was just cruising low orbit the whole round when we could actually be using it to achieve an objective.

It would be a waste of a combat asset.
However, kudos to Bungie for the amount of detail that's going into the game's mechanics.

I think we will be amazed this time around. This game has to be good, this is what will sell the 360 off of the charts.

If you ask me, this opens up a ton of possibilities when playing the Campaign - maybe flying to other planets or to a Halo out in space to combat on...pretty cool, IMO. But, you're right, Mattgame, he should die from a fall like that. It makes me wonder if the Master Chief even bent his knees when he fell from that height.

That's kinda neat to see.
