xbox live initial setup

can anybody help....my son has a xbox 360 and he wants to use xbox live...we have a broadband connection so i need to know the following

1. what do we need to buy to go live
2. is the xbox 360 wireless so i can use existing broadband internet connection

any info would be great.( sorry to be a dinosaur)

1. You need to get a subscription to Xbox Live. There are two ways you can do it. You can put in your credit card information in the sign up for XBL section on the console so it automatically keeps your subscription going every year. Or you can buy 12-month subscription cards where ever Xbox 360's are sold, any major retailer would have them. The 12-month subscription cost $49.99 a year.

2. The answer is yes, however you need to buy the network adapter to be able to be wireless. Here's what the network adapter (http://www.amazon.com/Xbox-360-Wireless-Network-Adapter/dp/B000B6MLV4/ref=pd_bbs_1/104-4825694-7065511?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1183822717&sr=1-1) looks like. The adapter cost $99.99, I see that amazon.com has a little discount on them now for $88.99.

thanks guys..just the info i needed...one small problem is that in live in UAE and cannot get hold of the adaptor.....can i use a router to play

Wired yes you can use your router, but without the adapater you will have to be wired. If you go wired, try and make sure you dont go over 50ft for cable as you may get a signal strength loss.
