Only reason Halo 3 got a 9.5 was because of the graphics and because they didn't like parts of the campaign, Halo 3 MP > Bioshock though.

No game should ever get a 10, nor should it even be considered. Bioshock was not deserving of a 10 in my opinion, nor would I have scored it over 9.

But to the point at hand, there is always something that can be found in ANY game to keep it from getting a 10. Even the beloved BioSshock which I didnt find all that amazing.

I mean if ten represents perfection then I agree. However, if ten represents excellence above others than I can see it.

Well I guess its a moot point really. The bar has already been set with previous games receiving 10's unfortunately. So I would expect the 10 to represent as you said Matt, and not so much perfection. The minute a game got a 10, I think game rankings became completely invalid across the internet for the most part. There will be games that come along that are better than those previous 10's, but alas you cant give them over a 10.

Well, when you direct all of your efforts for a game at a single player campaign you get close to perfection. Bioshock's ai was amazing, had an original story line and unique level zones, with smooth running gameplay.

Remember in halo 2 where there would be parts that had you running for awhile, outside, with no enemies to blast? Probably cause vehicles were designed for it, but you don't find that in bioshock. Which will keep you on your seat a lot of the game, imo.

Not to say I don't love halo. Little things in the campaign could be forgiven, but we all know especially from this review the meat is in the multiplayer. Which recieved top marks for innovation and play.

Halo 3 brought me back to xba for a little pre-halo discussion, and hopefully some of you will be down for making some awsome custom matches in the near future.

A 10 would be a game which utilizes every aspect of the console, has new and innovative features, covers plenty of areas, lots of play time, longetivity, innovative new fun multiplayer - Goals - ranks, makes you feel part of the action - gripping story line, one which makes you come back for more, find different ways of doing things, non linear... incredible graphics.... and ****.
