Unlocking Armor Permutations! Here's how:

I was doing a search on Google and I found this site that shows many ways to unlock armor permutations in Halo 3. For a while, I had no idea how to do it - was it by collecting skulls? By earning high points during the metagame? Another way?

EVA……………..Complete Tsavo Highway on Normal, Heroic, or Legendary
EOD……………..Complete Tsavo Highway on Legendary
Scout……………Unlock "Too Close to the Sun" Achievement (Destroy an enemy banshee with the Sp’laser or missile pod in a ranked playlist or campaign)

Elite

Flight……………Complete Tsavo Highway on Heroic or Legendary
Ascetic…………Unlock "Up Close and Personal" Achievement (Kill 5 enemies via melee or assassination in a ranked FFA playlist)

I understand that if you get all of the skulls, you unlock the entire Hayabusa armor (helmet and all).

Well, as of this moment, I have all of the Gold Skulls and 2/4 of the Silver Skulls. I know where one of them is - as for the last one, no one in the world has found it yet...lol...atleast not someone that frequents the internet :D

Seems like alot of armor unlocks by multiplayer. So I won't worry so much about the skulls then.

Yeah, but, not many people will get all the skulls and be able to sport the Hayabusa armor. That's the reason I want to get it because not everyone will have it.

I only need two more...I'll likely get them tomorrow.

Thanks for the heads up, Wulkar! I did a search and found the directions. That's crazy how someone actually discovered this... more like amazing! Jumping through the rings in a certain pattern to create the Halo theme song? Unbelievable....

This was the first time I went through and found the skulls (granted i used a guide). Most weren't to terribly difficult to get to, just took time to run back through the game from the beginning. But yes, that armor set is pretty sweet. :D

Well, I have all of the skulls now...as of earlier today. Now I need to get all 7 terminals... I guess that have to all be in order? Not sure yet.

Okay, so, when I walk up to a Terminal and it opens up, do I hit anything on my controller or do I just stand there looking at it to activate it? I've walked up to some only to see them open up, but, that's it. I didn't stand there for very long...I've shot it, threw grenades at it, etc, but, nothing happened. Are you saying just walk up to it, allow it to open, and then stand there and wait for about 25 seconds? Or do I have to hit a button to get the process going?

Yup, can pick chest/head/shoulders and mix and match em.

Don't get suckered into the Shredder outfit like 99% of other people do though!

the entire team has to be there and someone needs to press the right bumper. then don't press anything.

and the armors are, as far as i know, all about the looks.

It's purely cosmetic...no armor permutation gives any advantage over another...just a different look. Of course, if you're playing Team Slayer, you'll either be red or blue and your different armor will coordinate with your teammates to the same color - you can simply look a little different.

Like several here have said, it's a great idea for clans and to distinguish yourself on the battlefield.

Right now, I'm rolling with straight up Hayabusa armor, but, that may change once a lot of the Halo 3 community unlocks all of the skulls. If I see too many, I'll change mine up a bit to look different.

Also, Wulkar...thanks, bud...I'll have to hit up all of the terminals now. I just needed to know this before spending my time doing this and potentially wasting it because I didn't know what to do...lol :D
