Ok so I have an old tv and I bought an rf adapter but when I try to plug it into the back of the tv it doesn't fit. Are there different types of the rf adapter or am I just being stupid and missing something? It's for my 360 and it has the adapter to plug into the 360 but I can't get it to go into the tv. My fiance has an rf adapter as well and we plugged it into the same tv for my game cube but I can't get it to go for my 360. The two rf's are different ones (his is at school with him). Can anyone help me?

How old are we talking? Like the kinda old where it has no red yellow and white plugs? Where it only has one place where the cable goes into the tv? x.x I'm no expert on adapters though... Where's reclaimer when you need him

Yes there is no place for the red/white and yellow cables and only the one place to plug it in. And I still can't get it to hook into the stupid tv !! It's really making me mad !!

360 doesn't support RF adapters which is why it comes with the base composite (Y/W/R)

seriously, RF...? TV's are hella cheap, even for a ****ty tube with the inputs. Go to walmart even.

No, there are no different types of rf adapters. You just have to buy one for each device that you have to plug into a coaxial connection.

I don't understand why it wouldn't just screw in like the GameCube rf adapter, the only thing that I can think of is that the center core cable is bent. Look at the end of the rf adapter that goes into the back of the tv, you should see a cable directly in the middle of the "circle." If its not use a finger nail and position it so that it is centered in the middle. If it is centered in the middle and it still won't screw in, I would exchange the cable for a new one at the store.

As pathetic as it sounds I don't have the money to spend on a new tv, even one from wally world. I have a tv upstairs that is fine but that's the one that's in my room and it's heavy and I don't want to lug it downstairs and then back up when I'm done playing. It would be a huge pain in the tushy and I just can't do it.

Thanks I will check the rf adapater and find out and if it still doesn't work my fiance comes home in a few days and I'll just have him do it. He got the game cube one to work so he can get this one to work.

Thanks everyone.

Actually... I have an RF adapter for the 360, I don't know if it actually works because I originally bought it for my ps2 but I don't know why it wouldn't ^^

Yea I was really hoping that that user was kidding because if not that was pretty bad. If the rf adapters didn't work with the 360 then they wouldn't make them for it.

PS2 port isn't the same as the 360 port, so how would it work?

My only guess is that perhaps your TV has two RF inputs and you're using an output to put in the input.

Is your Gamecube hooked into the TV? If so, unscrew the cable for the Gamecube and put in the XBox 360 RF Adapter in it's place. Then, on the other end, you can put in your antenna or cable into the other end of the adapter so you'll have TV available for watching. Of course, use the other input to plug in your actual 360 console.

I haven't used one of these for years! But, it's very simple. And to think that I was bummed out because I can't plug in my 360 using an HDMI input because my launch 360 doesn't have the input...I was actually considering buying an Elite just to have the HDMI...lol...but, I'm using Component with mine right now.

I almost feel guilty because I own 3 TVs that have RF, Composite, S-Video, and Component...and 2 of those 3 have HDMI inputs. I also have a 4th TV in my garage that has RF, Composite, and S-Video that I only watch sports on while I have buddies over to play pool!

I know......I'm evil for sharing all of this :D

They do make rf's for the 360.

Picture then please. They made them for Xbox v1, but not 360, not official ones anyways.

Who knows...it could be a 3rd party one...but, either way, she says she has one made for the 360. In other words, it seems clear that she isn't using one made for, let's say, the PS2 or something.

I've yet to see even a 3rd party one in stores, so I'm waiting to see this magical 360 RF adapter that MS doesn't make or support

lol, dude...You may be right - I haven't seen or heard of one either...mainly because I have never even thought about looking for one. In my craziest dreams, I wouldn't even dream of using one...to me, an RF adapter is unthinkable, but, I'm open to the fact that one exists! lol

EDIT: Okay, I took the time to find one...there's one right here: http://www.amazon.com/Xbox-360-Live-Wire-Unit/dp/B000BCEJUE/ref=sr_1_3/105-9480269-1610066?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1191387754&sr=8-3

It looks like they are currently out of stock, but, it does exist. There are 6 people that have reviewed it on there.

I still recommend upgrading to a new TV as soon as financially possible, though. New TVs are extremely cheap these days, especially for Tube TVs.

The Rf adapters are not microsoft made but are made by pelican and by mad catz and even Game Stop. I work at EB/Gamestop and we have several in stock. If you haven't seen them in stores then you should visit your local EB/Gamestop.

The gamecube isn't plugged in anymore because my fiance took that cube and the rf with him to school but he is coming home today so I'm going to make him help me !!! lol.

Yea I can't believe you have so many tv's. Holy cow man. :)

Ok so here if you still don't believe me here is a link to the Gamestop website showing the two different kind of rf adapters available for the 360:

Ah neat, they do exist, thanks for the links guys, good to know.

They arn't in Canada anywhere I've seen in EB/FS/BBY etc, hence why I didn't think it.

Seriously, just get a new tv with the AV inputs for like $100 at walmart, way easier, and using RF is going to look like crap anyways.

Kudos to finding me the pics you two, thanks :)

Yea well the one I have right now works so it won't be for awhile but it's pretty good for online play. I was playing earlier...attempting the basic training. Finally beat the BT so play me! I'm not all that great but I'll give you a run for your money once I get warmed up. (yes that is a challenge). :) :)
