Some good stuff in there if it's true. I am surprised they would support the xvid codec and not divx since both are offshoots of the native wmv compression. Animated themes strike me as odd too, but I guess I could see how that would appeal to people.

DVR/PVR functionality... I really hope that one is true.

The only thing I don't like is yet another blade. It seems they are kinda going blade crazy right now and I feel sorry for anyone that hasn't upgraded to an hdtv at this point. All they are going to have is a big screen full of tabs and about 10 inches of viewable space.

Maybe I'm just an old fashioned gamer or something, but, I'll be dead honest here. Whenever I turn on my XBox 360, I leave the game in there and it boots up the game...if I want to play a different game, I just eject it and play a different game. Rarely have I ever used my 360 for more than this. I mean, I did download the COD4 Beta, but, that's the extent of it. Not kidding! I know there is a ton I'm missing, but, at the same time, the time I get to spend to play games is sometimes limited, so, I do that most of the time.

The Xvid is definetly nice, but we were told it'd also be Divx. Lets wait and see to hear it from the horse's mouth

Doesn't the XVID codec play DIVX files too? I thought it did. We'll see. Besides, almost everything out there is encoded with xViD anyways.

I'm wondering if they bundled it together maybe then, I'm not sure till we see it drop I guess. All I know is that we were TOLD divx, but who knows if it came to be

DivX and Xvid are codec packs they have certain codes within them that allow certain files to be played on wherever they're installed say your xbox 360 you'll be able to watch .Avi videos without having to downgrade the quality of the video by having to recode the video into another format say .mp3 or what have you. Basically it's a buch of codes that allow certain video types to be played on whatever it's installed on.

Now does anyone know if this is confirmed? The clans and such I mean It sounds very interesting to me, but is this actually confirmed?

Ah, thanks ainokeatoo...makes sense. So, it's just a superior video format than what the XBox 360 currently supports. Makes sense...

Those of you who have been waiting for Xvid? Are you people that are using extender or just trying to run stuff from the blade? I use extender, which can't play AVIs normally, but google Transcode360 and you can play anything.. believe it works in the dashboard too.. haven't had any problems playing files since I got that.. this update is a year behind.
