So I took about a 2 and a half week break from Halo 3 for a number of reasons and I took the break when I was a 49. But last night my friend and I agreed to finally come back and get our 50's, he was a 46 and I was a 49 and we won 12 games in a row and we both got our 50's that night. It was a surprisingly easy process to be honest, I wish they would have just kept the Halo 2 ranking system, but whatever, I have bragging rights now. ;)
So yeah, all 50's or close to being 50 post here. :)

I'm a 20! Woot! Oh wait.. this is a 50 thread.
Sorry.
I'm big with the Team Slayer, I was doing well there but I ran across a string of morons for teammates and that really hurt me level wise.
Oh well, I'll get back into it.

Congrats, Fatbox!
Right now, I'm a 42, I think. I also took a break...not because I wanted to, but, my pregnant wife has needed a ton of help lately...but, I played a couple nights ago and I'm not having any difficulty winning. I'll get to 50, but, my first goal is to get to 45 which I know will happen soon.
Also, NFL Football keeps getting in the way of me playing. Seriously, I'm so freakin' addicted to watching football because of this Football Pool that I'm in. Now that Thursday games are here, I won't have much of a life!
I also just got COD4 and Tiger Wood '08 and they are still in the plastic! I'm going freakin' nutz!!! :hardcore:

I finished at a level 21. The reason I say finished is because I played COD4, and that title buries Halo 3. I'll probably go back here in there, but I wont play it like I did when H3 came out. Its all about Call of Duty 4 now.
Congrats to the 50's that post in this thread.

I concur with the crazy cat. I may pop it in here and there but COD4 is ridiculous! Congrats Fatbox.
On a side note, do you know what I think of when I read the name Fatbox?:hump:

Dude. they have Rocket Race on the Social playlist now...hahahaha...I thought of you when I saw it since we played it a bunch of time until the wee hours of the morning with four other dudes.
Seriously, that was a freakin' blast, man...we need to do it again for sure!

Oh yeah, I played it last night for the first time.. and won. Of course I was the wheelman from hell on the mongoose. Not bad for a first timer. All the other guys where ragging on me because myself nor my partner have ever played it before and they talked **** about being the instant winner.
I wish I could have seen their faces when we won. My gunner kept missing everything, but then again I wasn't giving him a smooth ride either. Just the shortest route over whatever it took on Sandtrap.
To hell with ranked games. Social games are more fun.

You know, I find that social games are more fun, too. But, it depends, I like the seriousness of ranked games, too. I guess it just depends on how much ass I want to kick. If I want to be conservative and play defensively but aggressive, I'll play ranked...if I want to completely annihilate people and desire to hear the opposing team cry, I'll play social :D

Yea I know, I was stoked....until I actually played a few games. About half the time people don't know how to play, so in the smaller maps, they just run for the checkpoints rather than use the mongoose, or just stand and guard areas. It totally ruined the fun, but then I get Valhalla or Sandtrap and things are right once again

Rocket Race is fun if people actually play the game the right way. My friend and I played probably 15 matches of Rocket Race and about 6 or 7 of those matches we would get some douche bags who wouldn't get on the mongoose they would just walk around and keep shooting us so we couldn't even drive, therefore basically forcing us to lose the match, it's very frustrating because you can't do anything about it.
But I agree with you guys that social matches are more fun, ranked matches are definitely fun for me too though because I'm very competitive as some of you know, but I would say social matches are more "enjoyable" than ranked matches because in social you don't really have to worry about winning or losing because there is no gain or loss for winning a social match (except for exp), it's there for fun. Ranked matches are also a lot more nerve racking, especially at high ranks because when you lose at match at a skill level of 49, you get penalised big time and basically have to start right back at the beginning of 49.

Well said...I'll get there, there's no question. I just have to buckle down and get back on.
I strongly prefer playing with people I know for teammates, though. I know how they play and they know how I play. Playing with random people sucks because the connection isn't always the best...in other words, I seem to risk latency issues when jumping in all by myself to join a team instead of joining a team that I know that I have a good connection...but more importantly, like I said, it's playing with people that play with a strategy and call out locations of the enemy locations is much more important.
I've met dozens of cool guys by being ranked in the 40s. They seem to know what's going on much more than anything lower than a 40 when playing ranked matches.

So there are rankings again. I just got H3 on Saturday so I'm re-learning at this point since it's been over 6 months since I played H2. Pretty short solo game, which surprised me. Time to test out the online stuff.
As for the 50 part....I'll never get there.

Well, I'm officially a 43...I played for a little while a couple nights ago. I really want to get to 45 soon, though...which I should.
