I have a faceplate I designed that I need painted. I suck at painting and am tired of wasting money trying. Here is the design I am looking for someone to paint:

If your interested, shoot me an email with a price quote. I just want to pay for the finished product, so you would be suppling all materials.

Just for fun, Here is one I designed a while back, a friend is trying to paint it for me right now, but he's really slow on turn around time.

thanks for looking!

Heh, thanks. I gave the Carnage Zone one to a friend to paint for me back in August. I've been waiting since then to get it back. :bang: Ug. And the Cortana one is cause, well, she's sexy.:D

shes a fictional video game character... hahaha but if she were real i would completely agree

Girls inmagazines are sexy too, and cinsidering all the computer alterations and airbrushing they get, they might as well be fictional, too.

The carnage zone plate would be a one-week plate, probably.

The name "Cortana" would be easy, but the Cortana pic itself woudn't be. First choice would be to airbrush it where you'd see parts of her through other parts of her. I just got an airbrush but have no experience with it, so I can't help you there. The second choice would be a regular brush job. That's also beyond my skillset. If you're really, really serious about it, get ahold of Pavel at artistpavel.com. He asks $196 per plate last time I checked, which is NOT a lot of money for what he does. It just may be more than you want to spend to get a top caliber version of what you want and not just something "passable."

Again, to be clear, $196 is not "too much" since he has a line. It's just more than most people will spend on a faceplate because they don't see it as commissioning a piece of art. They see it as "buying a faceplate." That's kinda like going to an art show and buying a "piece of canvas that looks good."

His work is pretty impressive...

Thanks for the input guys. That's what I was afraid of with the Cortana one. Let me ask this: Have any of you tried the printable vinyl? They make some now that has adhesive on one side, and a printable (from a inkjet) area on the other side. Has anyone tried this? Does it look good if you are careful with cutting, or does it always look "cheep"?

so you basically want a skin on your faceplate?

Heh, well, I would like it painted, but $200 is just out of my price range. Not that it would not be worth it, I just can't afford that right now.

I was thinking if I could print it and make it look good, maybe. Otherwise, i'll just start saving.

I cant blame you, i would never pay 200 for any faceplate.

In Pavel's case, you're not paying $200 for a faceplate. You're paying $200 to commission a piece of art. It just happens to come on a 12" x 3" curved plastic canvas.

I'd have no problem paying $200 for the right faceplate, but only if I have the $200 to spare. Which at the moment, I don't.

I would think the vinyl would look pretty cheap

I don't think that's a very attractive picture of Cortana, either. I prefer the Halo 1 version. Her design just has more charm. That pic looks like she's saying, "Eww, don't touch that!"

she looks way more human in halo 3 than in the original...

That's what I mean. I prefer the more stylized human form in the first one.

LOL! Nice vid!

I picked that just cause I like how it looks like she is "holding" the power button. I like Cortana from Halo 1 and 3. She just looked, I don't know, strange in Halo 2. Her eyes were just bad and it really threw me off.

Thanks a lot for all the input guys!

Heh, yeah, it's just the template I used in Photoshop. It has those dimples that are on the faceplate. Could be fixed during the painting or sanding process so that doesn't come out in final product. ;)

Hey JeSteR! You can go with vinyl skin easily, I did the same for a clan, this is the digital painting I did:

http://bp0.blogger.com/_4FCmQ9cBXDc/Rvfzw-YgpeI/AAAAAAAAANY/rl4VLYDiKZQ/s1600-h/cropped_final_art.jpg

and that's the skin I printed at decalgirl.com (http://decalgirl.com):

This company does not print any obvious fan art, but there are companies that will.
The black faceplate underneath the skin would've looked better than white though

Hey, thanks a lot artistpavel. I really admire your work. And thanks for the link to the site. I'll send the Cortana one in and see if they will do it.
