It's just because of the LIVE issues these past 2 weeks. I was getting the same thing and found if you just tried to redo it a few times, sometimes it would kick in. I also cleared my HD's cache to see if it would help too.

Thanks for the reply's , I got the game at 2PM and I finally got it done at 6/7 :( It's amazing , I don't know why you think it's overrated , many of the games today don't measure up to the standards set by GoW.

If you have trouble in single player later in the game, let me know. When Gears came out I couldn't beat one boss. I traded the game in frustration and recently bought it again. Then I figured out how to beat that boss and blasted him away. It's different than what the guide books say but it's easier.

Many games out today don't look as good graphically as Gears and the Active Reload is brilliant. There is nothing outdated about Gears.

Actually, Halo 3 is perfectly rated, the campaign is fun the graphics are second to none, online is normally fun minus the screaming children.

Outdated yes, Crackdown looks better, halo 3 looks better, Mass Effect looks better, Two worlds would look better if it wasn't for the crappy frame rate, Hell Naruto: Rise of a ninja's cell shading is awesome... And I think it's the first cell shaded game on 360... I think.

Yeah sure overrated... in what way... show me a game where you can do half the things u can do in gears... also if its so ""overrated" then why are other companys trying to aquire the same rights to use unreal engine in there projects and the one botton technology to do diffrent tasks in the game.. the online still hasnt been beated and continues to dominate ... what call of duty 4 or halo 3, u think that beats Gears of War... halo 3's online is a complete washed down version of halo 2 with suckier maps.. or COD 4 where u cant even have friends come over and play as guest.. get with it Gears has more strategy than both of those... i dont even need a headset when i play halo 3 or COD 4 (its just a shoot em up game. no strategy needed) ... the only thing your right about is it does attrack immature children... but halo 3 is a breading grown for it as well as Cod 4 so thats a problem that has no fix, its only a matter of time before..., kids younger than 18 go on mature games..

Hey just cause some kids are immature freaks there still are enough grown up a$$holes. I cant tell you how many games i have been b1tched on by 20+ guys about my voice or skill so just cause little kids are annoying doesnt mean that all you "Adults" aren't also.

Also about microsoft i do understand the problems because at my school all the seniors in my grade got xbox live 30+ people. Also before christmas there was only 6 million Live members after christmas 10 million Live members, no one could have predicted that much of a jump. And hey a free game is all right with me. Gow is great and so is single player so dont feel so bad about the belated update.

anyways... cod 4 and youll agree is retarded, that you no matter the ranking when signed on the first time, the other players have better wepons than you atleast in gears and halo everything is equal.. i didnt know in a real war you couldnt side peek or take cover and blind shoot... cause in cod it lacks that...step.., although the AI can do it and kill you, we cant.. its bullsht.. and honestly wat strategy does cod 4 offer better than gears you get one chance in each round in gears not to die ... in cod i can die all i like, i respawn and respawn and go running around and shoot here and there boom 18 kills .. like nothing gears you gotta work a lot harder to get someone with the wepons they offer... the only thing cod 4 has better than gears is the sniping in that, there a lot more real i will agree with you. but besides that cod has nothing on gears, infact i should make a thread to see wat people enjoyed more.., when it came out gears or cod4 .. and now do u think if cod 4 came out when gears did you'd think they would of won game of the year... cause i seriously highly doubt it.. cause its been over a year now and gears is still being played and bought like crazy ... sorry im getting outside of the topic of realism ..

Thin walls whatnot, as for the fairness in weapon choice, just because you have to unlock better guns, doesn't mean the guns you start out with suck. I can go 20-10 with the starting Sub-Machine gun, it's how you use the gun. Also, as far as strategy goes, you use your teammates to your advantage, they're your scouts, where they get killed is where either you don't go or you go to for kills. You rely on your team mates to give you what you need when you need it. Also, for clan matches, you need bodies? Coordinate your team to take guns, you need snipers? Coordinate your team to get snipers, you need moveable snipers? Have your snipers take an auto/semi-automatic weapon and a sniper.

Dude i think we're gonna agree to disagree... in real war you hide all the time, ever herd of fox holes, or malitia,(strategic men using the elements to suprise and ambush enemies)and especialy in a middle eastern war, we always practice strategic hiding and blending in the mornings in the core right after pt.( physical training) not only that but the strategy you mentioned with snipers are used all the time in gear matches. in clan matches in both games... gears to me seems to be the one i have to be more strategic..., cause its a big diffrence when you can respawn all the time..., towards only getting 1 life per round.and in gears if i die i leave 3 guys in a uneven fight in cod 4 i dont see that. even the way cod4 was designed shows it doesnt even matter how many people you got, im always in a uneven match.and about the wepon thing its bullsht cause when i started out i actualy use to shoot all the time, with the automatic oozies and it wouldnt kill the guy quickly even though a whole clip was emptyd on a guy he would turn around shoot me with his supped up automatic and i died its bull... the only thing i can say sucks about gears in the start was hosting but atleast id know there would be a host running around if i wasnt the host. if cod4 came out when gears did it wouldnt of out sold them there multi platform now they havnt beaten them in sales yet... and gears broke i think there million mile mark in about month and half when it came out.. so i dont realy
