So just bring your red arrow aimer thinger around the asteriod belt. Until you here that "beep". And it will come up as "Unknown". And then just scan it with Y. =)

When your on an unmarked planet. Not everything shows on the map. So just drive around for a minute and your find different minerals, and maybe a "huge worm digger thing". (forgot the name..liike a grawler or something.??)

It's called a thresher maw. If you wait long enough when your looking at the solar system your in, watch the asteroid belt and a light (sort of a small dot of light) will flash showing where the asteriod is located with the thing you need to find.

I just discovered the same thing about a week ago.
Now I've got to go back and search all the systems I was mining for minerals previously.
