*another one of my mini rants*

You see, as you all should know I spent a sizeable amount of time on TF2, I love it, I do suck & I find some classes rather un-balanced, but it doesn't change overall how much I enjoy a good match. Then after much 'bullying' I decided to go againt my guns & give CoD4 A try & what a fool I was!

The single player is brilliant, one of the best, quite possibley the best after BioShock. But online, my god, I hate it! & TF2 is part of the reason why, because TF2 is too good an example of how online shooters should be, the players simply use common decency to fight people & enjoy the game rather than despratly scrabbling for a win by using all the known dirty tactics. Another nice touch of the TF2 community is the team work, you don't have to scream down the mic to get some help, people watch your back thanks to the class system so you never feel your alone. CoD4 however & of course this is from my experience was none of these things. The fact that you die fast & the RPG system is in place means people dont enjoy the game, thats not what they play for, they play to win, meaning your constantly getting shot from behind, blown up or generally ganged up on. Now you could say 'this is all part of the game' & yeah it may, but TF2 has none of this, people play for fun. Now after dying for the 19th time in a row from my general suckyness, I found myself rather aggravated of course, but then when I finally get a kill some American Kid shouts "HAY THAT WAS MY KILL!" *boot* I mean this is Gears all over again...im tired of this...I'd much rather play a game full of people with decency rather than life laking teenagers that arn't old enough to play this anyway.

& one final note, yes this was a big whine & thats all it is aswell, me stating my opinion where I can state it completly without argumentetive interuptions.

Millions of others disagree.

Yeah, I completely disagree and think COD4 is one of the best shooters to come along in a long time. I played TF2 at my brothers house and was not impressed at all with that game. In fact, that game and portal were my main reasons for NOT purchasing the Orange Box. I found the TF2 drab, basic and not much fun after about 30 minutes.

As stated, I'll side with the millions who have realized that COD4 is probably the best shooter to come along to the video game world.

I think you need to play hardcore to realize the full potential of COD4.. thats where the bread and butter is for FPS. I hate putting 5+ rounds into a guy and he keeps on running around.. In hardcore mode I can pick off a person with 3 pistol rounds from across the map and 1-2 rifle rounds can take them out at that distance.. its great.

yah i agree i mostly snipe in hardcore and i love how its a 1 shot kill but in regular its like a 3 shot kill if u can steady ur aim that fast but hardcre is amazing its so realistic

XboxLiveMan, if i wasn't so lazy i woulda posted this excact thread.. i love the single player and couldn't have asked for better, but after i beat the game and started player the multi, it made me kinda just stop playing the game all together. i hven't played for months, and i really tried to give it a try, but couldn't get into it. i'll stick with crappy bungie over this..

I'd have to say I got bored of Halo 3 so fast and I mean like rocket speed, it was that boring after playing it from launch till the end of the week. For Call of Duty I beat it on Hardened, now doing it on Vet one step at a time, and enjoying the Multiplayer a WHOLE much better than Halo 3. Even though I just prestiged up after holding back, I can see myself playing and playing to get to the Max Prestige. Just my 2 cents on things..

Its pretty simple. Halo 3 = Halo 2 on steroids. There really is no differemce when it comes to multiplayer online other than the forge and replay abilities.

That is so true there crazy, that must be the reason why after 2 wks I was tired of it.

Is it worth giving 3 a try if you've never played 2?

If anything, Halo 3 = broken Halo 2. But give it some time and Halo 3 will eventually be just like how Halo 2 was.

I'd say if you never played Halo 2 then definitely give Halo 3 a try!

I personally think that cod4 is the best multiplayer game out there. (At least with a G3). Some people just have their own preferences and your one of the people who doesnt like cod4. Oh, and beating cod4 on veteran is near impossible, especially the mission one shot, one kill.

I haven't touched the single player. I stick to multi, and it's a blast if you're playing with a group you know.

One shot one kill is easy compared to the first time you play as a marine, where you have to get through that huge room which is the television broadcasting station I think... I still haven't passed that on veteran, although I finished the game on normal.

You're referring to Charlie Don't Surf, right? I had the toughest time beating it on Regular, so you can imagine how crummy I was going through it on Veteran. I love the multi-player on Duty, not on as much lately these days because I'm pretty fed up with the people, but can't deny it isn't awesome.

Well, ya know, it doesn't matter what we all have to say about it, it's really your opinion that matters to you in the end. If ya don't like it, you don't like it. And it's great that you can say it and not be an arse about it.

Personally, I think it's a great game on any system, at this point. I have it on PC and 360 and I love the game... I don't have a decent frame of reference on The Orange Box, yet. But I want to play it based soley on TF2 and Portal.

So, no, I don't agree with ya on it, but I don't have to. So game on, man and have a good one...

I played Halo 3's multiplayer and thought it was awesome, and after hearing all the great things about Call of Duty 4, decided to give it a try. Well, I'll have to agree with you XBLM... I was disappointed as well (disappointed here meaning pissed off from being killed all the time). I loved the single player and am going through it on veteran right now with little difficulty, but for some reason I'm seriously sucking online... probably because I'm thinking "Halo" and I try to rush into the field only to be killed by a grenade or some guy hiding in a corner. I just don't have the patience to crouch all the way to the action, though.

I'll continue to play for a little while longer to see if I get any better, but if not, I'm done.

BTW, I played Team Fortress 2 as well... it was fun..... when it didn't lag like hell.... :bang:

Stick with Team Fortress 2, I had much more fun playing that for the short amount of time I did than ever playing Call of Duty.

The latter just felt like a hassle, whereas in Team Fortress I actually enjoyed myself. Also, no one ever said n!gger, insulted my mother, or talked ****. It was always "good game" and the like.

I really respected your post until you wrote this. You said people don't enjoy the game, but that is not true at all. There are tons of people who would disagree with this. You also said people play to win in COD4, but what game do you play that you don't want to win? You say you are constantly getting shot from behind, but what FPS do you play where you don't get shot in the back? You said you get blown up or generally ganged up on, but what FPS do you play that you don't get ganged up on in team games? All of these things that you wrote are generally in most FPS games.

I've had the game for 3 days now. Nearly a level 55...I haven't decided whether or not I'm going to go prestige or not. I'm loving the gameplay though. As for Halo 3....it blows.

Conchord

Keep doing prestige, each time you do it, it leaves something else unlocked. In round three, for example, you don't have to level up to make custom classes.

ok i understand the you dying 19 times in a row and getting frustrated, but if you are going to give the game a bad review becuase you didt play with a squad that knew how to play together and because some american teenager said that was his kill, then the problem does lie in you and not the game, it is smooth game play (unless you have a crappy internet connection) and is very much about team work if you are playing sabotage or search and destroy or domination, but death match is just that its an all out war.

my advice find some friends play together in a private room until you can understand each others style of play then jump online and enjoy the game.....

Completely disagree with the initial poster. CoD4 is arguably the best multi-player game ever.

Although I used to hate multi-player on CoD4 too when I didn't know what I was doing, got killed all of the time and basically sucked at it.

You guys are almost making me sell me xbox... almost.

Just bought a 42" HDTV, got the HD cable and DVR all set up. An Elite might make an apearance... or one of those Halo Editions.
