GOW 2 Announced!

Epic Games President Mike Capps made the announcement today at the GDC that Gears of War 2 has a November 2008 release window. Judging from the website, trailer, and the pre-order links to gamestop and amazon already in place, I'd say they've been preparing to do this for a while and did a really good job of keeping the date a secret.

That trailer got me pumped for the game, even though it didn't show any gameplay. Can't wait to see more of Gears 2.

I'm a little skeptical.... Seems like GOW was in the works for sooooo long. And it came out just amazing! But it doesn't seem they've had enough time for GOW2. Which makes me think it won't look much better and probably nothing new in the gameplay. So it's going to feel like the same exact game. Which doesn't seem so bad considering GOW is such an awesome game. But for me, I get kinda bored of games after not to long. SO if it feels like the first one, then I'm not going to be excited when playing it like I was with the first one :(

BUT this is the sequel to one of the best games... soooo I know it's going to sell out the door, and I'm sure it'll be just as fun as GOW.

I probably don't make any sense lol... I say it's going to be like GOW which was awesome, yet I'm not excited... lol

:yikes: Yea.. i know... there was earlier stuff that .. led me to believe it would be out this year.. thats awesome though, they confirmed it.. i love gears, i think its the best game ever created.... i really do.. halo 2,3 n cod 4 collect dust in my room as i keep on playing gears... did you guys notice in the animation, that marcus and the locust fought each other on a chainsaw to chainsaw battle lol i wonder if we''ll have to tap A rapidly to win those... that would be awesome.. !! :cool:

They have the game engine now, so they only have to develop the game on it. My guess would be that most of that time that went into the first GOW was spent tweaking / creating the engine.

I love Gears too but I hope they resolve the gameplay in multiplayer, meaning host shottie. They have to fix that. I hope this new chainsaw v chainsaw mechanic is not affected by the host shottie deal.

Yeah me too.. i hope they fix that, and some of the stick factors when u dive from wall to wall.. and i know this is a far long shot.... but i hope glitch-ing out of maps are done with or at least tougher to do and also no more weapon sliding i do it sometimes but in all reality ... if there going to allow it in competitions then make it a part of the game... honestly i just want to see the same set-up as halo 3 and 2 ... its fast to find a match, we can all agree waiting there for 20 mins for 8 people to come in sucks!!! .... just make match making and clan making and all the other added goodies, like halo 2 n 3 and we wont complain its a simple set up but very affective. ;)

see im in complete opposite opinion with ya.. i think Gears is the best thing that ever happen since indoor plumbing.., but i know it has it's fault.. i knew this game was incomplete... cause they kept pushing it back since the start of xbox 360, it was supposed to be one of the original games for xbox 360 and they pushed it back about 3 times.... but the storyline is unique and so is the game play... im tired of the same set up for shooters... cant wait for gears 2 ....

you bastard... lol u probably gotten me a bunch of time and i never notice it..i hate sniper i suck with it barely grav it... i rather shotgun you or cleverly chainsaw,,, although toch bow is awesome...

Well seeing as I never played GOW1 I doubt I will pick up GOW2 but hopefully it turns out good.

I never thought gears was that fun. The campaign was fun but after i beat it i never picked it up again. I tried the online play but couldn't get into. Im hoping GOW2 will be better.

Yeah, if any of you have a chance I suggesst watching the GDC Event videos that are on XBL. Cliffy B, comes out with a Lancer's Chainsaw making hella noise. He Explains how GoW1 was basically just something to open up the plot for GoW2 and introduce the characters.
