I just got my 360 back from Microsoft after getting the Red Ring of Death. It looks like they just replaced it with another refurbished one. Problem is the button to engage the wireless detection mode seems to be somewhat broken. I was able to get 2 of my 3 controllers connected by constantly pushing the button until the console entered the detection mode. The button doesn't click when pressed... like it used to on my old machine.

Rather than spend another hour trying to get the button to work I thought I'd see if anyone knew of a software method to get the console to enter detection mode. I figured there was probably a way to do it from the dashboard but have yet to find it. Anyone know of a way to do this?

Thanks in advance for you help.

No software way of doing it, you need to use the buttons.

Press the small round button on the system itself.
HOLD the smaller round button on the controller.
Voila.

Voila.Var, I think he's trying to say is that the sync button on the faceplate/360 is not working. If you have another faceplate, put that on and try.
