Well, with certain games will come a 1 month Gold Xbox Live Trial. You're xbox, if buying new, also has 3 of these free one month accounts that you can activate whenever.

The way to get xbox live without a credit card are with the pre-paid cards or starter kits.

Look for a Vision Cam box deal. I got mine off Ebay for 60-65.
It comes with:
1. Year of Gold Live
2. Xbox Live Vision Cam
3. Download codes for Uno and Robotron 2184
4. Headset

Thats a good deal, and a perfect start up kit for someone just buying a system.
