The Xbox 360 damages the CD it scratches them and in some cases crack the groove.

In my country, a game "Xbox 360" it costs 85 $and the machine has damaged me two.

Lamentable service to the client only says that one is careful and he repeats the recommendations of the manual.

But if somebody of Microsoft reads this Forum, know that they have an excellent console but with a critical failure in the reader of CD

Perhaps it should consider the possibility:

Of selling a code of security to make a copy of the original game
Of changing the reader of the CD

How do you have your system? Standing or laying down? Standing causes a ring to develop on the disk and causes what your talking about.

yeah good Question wicked.. Are you using the console Horizontal or Vertical and or have you move the console from one of those positions while the disc was spinning in the Drive???

I ask cause moving the console while the disc is running can cause this issue. Hopefully you are doing or have done something along these lines and can just be mindful not to as it can destroy the game disc and render it unplayable. Best of luck

My console is always horizontal and when it is working I never move it

Microsoft is an important company and the Xbox it has achieved an important market percentage

Microsoft could consider solutions for its users they don't lose the money of its acquired games

There has been reports that a few versions of the Xbox 360 scratches discs. Something to do with the DVD-ROM drive not being aligned.

However I don't know which version it is that does it, there has been a few revisions of the Xbox 360 since launch and I'm not just talking about the Elite, Pro and Arcade and so on.

It's like the original Xbox, throughout it's product life there was at least 5 revised models and the production line was changed 3 times.

Your issue is with a particular revision of the 360. If you have a warranty left, you'll have to go through a warranty exchange.

Otherwise you'll have to trade in and buy up to a more recent 360.

no it doesn't. the only thing that would make that happen is if you move or bump the console. standing it vertical doesn't cause this just by itself.

actually having it standing did cause a ring to appear on my disks for quite a while until i switched to horizontal

well then you either have a faulty disc tray or somehow it got moved enough to create it. I've had mine standing vertical since launch and haven't had a single disc develop this.

well there are many factors to this also that the surface that its standing vertical on isnt level and the xbox its self might be missing a pad or it got worn down so it doesnt sit level there are alot of different factors that could cause this to develop onto the disks

I agree "Xbox 360" it is the best console

But I have not moved it in operation.

When the CD damaged it was in horizontal position.

It is interesting your observation (Jarkman), I will verify it
