I purchased only the Game/Guitar bundle. I didn't want to shell out for the whole band bundle, since I already have the RB set and all the instruments are compatible, I will just have to use those.I have a few pros and cons to the new guitar.
PROS
I like that it is sized comparable to the RB guitar. Still about an inch shorter.
The have changed the d-pad to a knob that surrounds your guide button.
The back and start buttons have changed location and design, which also does the job of Star Power activation.( you can still tilt it to engage as well)
It has more weight and shaping this year.
Game/Guitar bundle is packaged with coupons for one of the "in game" sponsors(lol) KFC
CONS
The strum bar on mine seems a little sloppy, though it still has the click when strumming.
The whammy bar is different, more closely resembling a real one. It doesnt seem to stay put, and be there to grab when I need it.
As for the game, I can't wait to play through it. I love the character creation, far more in depth than RB. I also love the instrument customization aspect that includes shape, finish, and for the guitar and bass you can chose the board you notes stream on. Much like RB you can chose your path to play(gig selection) rather than just playing straight down the list. I am intrigued by the Custom Track creator, and will wait to tinker with that for a while. If you didn't pre-order your copy, get in line for this one.
All we need now is for more regularly released and affordable DLC.
I look forward to playing some of you online..!!!!
