Let me first tell you that the new dashboard is rockin'! Everything is much better laid out and even my wife had no trouble finding everything.

Yeah, I'm really looking forward to my system being quieter. I couldn't believe how much of a difference it was when until I actually watched that video.

Kam, is there any way you can post pics of everything? I'm syked for the 19th.

EDIT: I can get a pirated copy but if I try to log on to live with it until the 19th I will get banned. So either way no live for me. And I'm not really in to pirated copies anyways. Mabye my cousin who doesn't have live will want it though. I'll have to see. But I won't be giving him it until the 19th :P he can come over and update haha

I wasn't too bothered about this update.... untill now! I didn't know they were adding the install feature, and after that vid comparing sound, I am definitely hyped up.

The lawn-mower-esque yell emiting from my 360 while playing games is.... and now, I hope to say, was, the only flaw to it.

Looking forward to this one.

Loading games to the hard drive is huge, IMO. Also, the Netflix thing is also really kick ass....this should be really cool.

The standard definition movies will be streamed, but the high definition movies have to be downloaded so you can watch those whenever you want.

I found out something pretty cool that I didn't know about while watching a video on the new dashboard earlier today. The old dashboard you could only put 6 downloads in your waiting to be downloaded list, well with the new one you can have much more than that. The person doing the video never hit the limit, but he was up to 19 items waiting to be downloaded.

Yea, they don't care about Canada. Movie downloads we got like 6-9 months afterwords and our catalog is nowhere as vast. We still don't have TV shows to buy.

Me too. I think I'm gona enjoy the experience in general, but I really don't like the avatars SO FAR... Of course, once I gte to see how they work I might get to actually enjoy them more than I expected...

Lmao! I wonder though, since they're some what doing away with gamerpics I wonder if from the gamerpics we get items of clothing. Seeing as a few of us here beta tested end war I wonder if from our beta end war gamerpics we'll get some special clothing or something. I dunno it's hard to explain.

I'd rather have the option to either keep your gamerpic, or have an avatar. I don't want to play dress up with a virtual barbie doll.

And now with avatars, I'm pretty sure gamerpics will be pretty much obsolete.

Sorry, but the foo fighters are an entirely different band. The only member from nirvana is david grohl, who was the drummer and is now the guitarist/singer of the foo. Krist novaselic went his own way when Dave asked him to join. And we all know where kurt went.

Has anyone tried the Netflix deal? I have the BB service, but if Netflix will allow me the dl into the 360, then I'll make the switch. I'll likely not be able to stream given my internet is borderline at best.

My Xbox got sick and had to go away to texas for a few weeks, UPS called yesterday and said I'd be getting it sometime before seven. I'm looking forward to it. :hump:

As far as the whole avatar vs gamerpic thing goes, you can have your avatar "pose" for a band new gamerpic, but that (unlike making the avatar itself) is completly optional... you can still use your old gamerpics if you want.

I'm getting antsy, I want my Xbox darn it!!!

I gotta say the new dashboard is pretty cool, especially the avatars. A lot of customization choices in there. You can use your old themes and they work just fine with the new dashboard. The best thing about this update is the new party system with up to eight friends, it really helps instead of having one-on-one chats with people. Just being able to chat between different games with your friends is cool. The new guide lets you pretty much get to anything on your xbox no matter what you are doing. Overall I can say that the new experience is better than the old. :hump:
