Hi Everybody!

I got a little Problem with one of my xbox360-Controllers :(

Unfortunately, it fell to the ground a few times, and i noticed some issues over the weeks i played with it... the analog stick is f... up

For example:

When i'm playing GTA, and i don't touch the controller at all, Niko Bellic walks to the left on his own...

Or Mortal Kombat, the character can't jump to the right, i have to use the cross to move him, and even that doesn't work all the time. that sucks pretty bad. Thank god i have a replacement controller...

Anyway, any chance to get that controller fixed? By opening it and try to do something? Or isn't it that easy?

Maybe someone has already got the experience.... If so, tell me please. I already did some research on google, but without success...

Thanks in advance!

Gordon :p

You more or less got the analog stick to get stuck at least that's what i believe happened don't know why it only did it after a few drops but it happens with every console controller. My old controller did the same thing. Anywho. I don't know if there is any fix, you probably can open and fix it, I don't know, I would suggest just getting a new controller, it saves time. Or you can wait for others opinions XD

you could try to open it and fix the analog joystick if you really wanted to. something similar happened to my old controller and its possible to mend it back together. one other thing of note is you might want to make sure that the analog stick is perfectly vertical when you not only turn on your 360, but load your game as well. by having the stick "off-center" it will auto calibrate the new incorrect position as "center". This will be very frustrating for you b/c like you said all characters in all games will go a different direction. If however you're not feelin up to opening up your controller, then ainokeato offered some good advice to buy another controller. just make sure this one doesn't hit the floor lol remember they are electronic equipment lol.

Lmao, normally they are very sturdy electronic equipment, I mean, my second of two controllers *my first wired was mauled by my demon dog* which is the wireless controller that came with the pro bundle at launch. I've dropped it so many times, that i've lost count, it's chipped up on the top right, the controller has gone through having grip stickered onto the handles. Which slid off as I used the controller for game sessions so long that the controller got really hot aha.

There are stained dirt marks all over the bottom part of the controller, not a lot just slightly big spots. Basically, I tore up that controller, and really, the only noticeable stick in the analog's were just recently, and even then I can stand it. On any note lmao, I would just buy a new controller, and try not to drop it to high onto a hard surface.

lol i hear ya on the controller issue lol. my original one was so worn that the paint on the controller wore off, the little nubs on the analog stick were gone, even the lettering of of the triggers and bumpers were dam near worn down to nothing lol. on top of all that the battery hook up port on the top of the controller was so loose that if I tilited the controller downwards the connector piece would slide off. lol I have it still connected as well to an older 360 headset b/c if I remove the headset's plastic connector piece, it will take the controller's headset port with it lol. needless to say i had to say goodbye and get myself a new one lol.

There use to be a way to recalibrate the controller when an issue like that occured..but I cant rembember what it was.

Something similar to pressing all the bumpers/triggers and some other buttons together. It fixed the whole "scrolling" issue.

Since your controller seems effed anyways, no harm trying to fix it, but it'll be way easier to just geta new one, lpus you can choose from many new colors~

LMFAO I do believe I heard of that issue as well, but for something completely different. It was around when Viva Pinata was still new, something about a Guitar controller being plugged in at the same time or something. Bleh, but I doubt the whole bumpers/triggers and button thing would work. Since if you drop the controller enough or, in this case, a few times in just the right way. You can fux up the controller and have the analogs stick, so it's actually ending up to be a hardware issue more so than whatever software it might use.

Bash, don't worry about actually dropping the controller, just try not to, and if you do hope to god it's not from a very high height onto a tile or something similar kind of floor. The 360 is very durable if you drop it, try to be superhero and try to catch it if it falls, a majority of the time if you do it on accident from a high place, at least getting a hand on it once or twice can help reduce the risk of it fuxing up when it hits the floor.

ALL IN ALL: Viva pinata was messed up, it hated Guitar Hero controllers.

and try not to drop the controller, and if you do drop it, try not to do so from a high place, or on the side with the buttons and analogs.

Lol, I think if he was planning to drop it, he just wouldn't.

I kinda know your problem though, I've used my controller so hard that sometimes the character will move to the left slowly when I'm not touching the stick. You could try opening it if you want to risk that because you're probably gonna have to get a new controller anyways.

i found a very simple tutorial that shows you how to open a controller:

btw you need a XCM/torx screw driver to do this, costs around 3-4 bucks..so not that expensive :D

http://xbox-accessories.com/instructions/controller_case_instructions.html

in my case its a wireless controller, that means you have to remove that barcode-sticker thats glued over the last screw...

speaking about recalibrating:

Recalibrate your controller by removing the battery pack while playing. Wait a few seconds then reattach without hitting any buttons or sticks, then turn on. This should reset the controller and stop the awkward moving.
