Great stuff! Very cool idea. With the impending release of the Wolverine Origins Movie and Game you might consider making a few more of the faceplates with the logo in different colors. Again great stuff!

Would you post it again? It was just the yellow lettering and the face painted straight onto the faceplate.

Thanks :D Um, it is a combination of ways. Some are stencils, some are free hand, some are paintbrush and blends of those. But I'm glad you like them!

Only had about 5 colors to work with but I did what I could. Little rusty being I have not airbrushed anything for months, but here it is hope you like it :) Throwing it on ebay for $0.99 if anyone is interested.

Quite frankly, the only faceplates i had access to were the few I stumbled upon, but since coming to the site, it seems I've found a whole new appreciation for the artwork.

The ones in this thread are stunning, can't wait to get my own collection built up....I'll look for tips to get started on another thread.

Dude, you're from Rebelscum? I was from CollectStarWars.com when it was Bananapunk's site. They sold to Rebelscum, and then after a year when the no-compete clause was up, he started the Bounty Hunters Collective at GalacticHunter.com. I freakin' lived at that site for years. I collected, and made custom figures there. I was even in ToyFare a couple of times. I had thousands of posts at colelctstarwars.com, 2800 at Rebelscum, and 200-something at galactichunter.com before I just gave up on the SW figure collecting thing. I'm still addicted to looking for them, but I can't hardly make myself spend eight bucks on a figure anymore.

Hmm that's a very tough choice lol, the game is so huge. Well it would be cool to have the logo of course (the one on the box would work), then the SR2 (Normandy), with a planet in the background (maybe blue and green like earth, or something which resembles earth). It would probably look best with a black background.

Any chance you're able to paint disk drive covers too?

Hey everyone, as you may have noticed I have not been making a lot of faceplates lately. I am sad to say that my Dad lost his fight with cancer a few days ago due to breathing complications at MD Anderson. A few days before he died, my Dad took a blank faceplate I had and wrote me a note for when he was gone. This faceplate means the world to me now and I proudly use it on my Xbox now. Just thought I would share it with you all :)

Yes, that is the only faceplate I have from him. He wrote that faceplate to me 10 days before he went into a coma and died. He told me he could feel his insides shutting down so he knew he didn't have a whole lot of time left so he wanted to leave me a note to me for when he was gone. That faceplate means the world to me.

No, I am afraid to try and clear coat it, I'm scared the ink may bleed or something. And its just an oem faceplate with one of those fine point sharpies. Do you. have any ideas on how to preserve it?

In all honesty I was hoping you was going to say that you had sprayed it with some kind of thing to preserve it, you got me off guard mentioning the bleeding - I never even considered it.

What you could do is frame as someone already said and maybe have the pen laid next to it too.

I have no idea what you could use to preserve it unless you can get "a clear sticker" to cover it. Which should in theory protect from dust also.
