Microsoft reported that gears of war 2 sold 2 million copies worldwide in its first week of release. If that's not an indication that Gears 3 should be in development, what is?

IMO, the game needs to be a little more difficult - at least for the Campaign. I'm going through it right now on Insane and it doesn't seem to be much of a challenge, eventhough I'm having fun.

Overall, though, if they just kept doing what they're doing, I'll be happy as schoolgirl doing hopscotch on the playground with a lollipop bigger than her head.

I want to see a storyline that makes sense in the "big picture". I don't want to see this become like bungie who says "finish the fight" and then releases multiple titles off the "ending". Its like when a famous singer/songwriter dies and then years after their death they still release cd's. lol.

they need actual testers not casual gamers but people TRYING to exploit the game to test it for them so they can fix it, also see what happened with game engine in prior games that could be fixed, glitches are inevitable but the amount and gravity of them are able to be changed

what are you talking about? there is NO announced game that is a direct sequel to Halo 3. Halo: ODST is a prologue to Halo 3 and Halo Wars takes place before Halo 1.

what are you talking about? there is NO announced game that is a direct sequel to Halo 3. Halo: ODST is a prologue to Halo 3 and Halo Wars takes place before Halo 1.

none that are official but Bungie has stated that they are not finished w/ MC at all. Apparently ODST is going to have something thats "extra special" for those gamers who have all the achv. for ODST and Halo 3, and MC apparently somehow will make an appearance of some sort by bungie.

yawn? Show me the part of my post where I "bashed" you. I merely gave some facts about the only two games that are announced at this point. You were speculating completely. Plus, even if Master Chief shows up in ODST, it would make perfect sense given that the game takes place BEFORE Halo 3.

Further Halo is one of the best selling franchises of all time, you'd be a fool to think we won't see xbox's mascot again. If you beat the game on Legendary then you would know that Master Chief and Cortana aren't dead. The story was left wide open for a sequel.

Last, the "extra special" thing for getting all the vidmaster achievements is the Recon Armour being unlucked for MP use.

In GOW 3 I hope there is some drastic changes. In my opinion gears of war was great, but i think a lot of us had high expectations for GOW2 and in my opinion i dont think those expectations were held. The chainsaw duels are great but i think they should make it so a signal on the bottom of your screen alerts you and you can press a button to turn quick and duel with them. I also think they should make it so nobody can interfere with your chainsaw battle or else they shouldnt call it a battle if you cant finish it. That is one of my thoughts for GOW3. please tell me what you think about my idea

i think that with gow3 the focus should be upon improving gameplay and fixing glitches that seem to happen to a lot of games when they are shipped. yawn, anyways mc and cortana are not dead your right, however, the planet that mc goes to is the start of Bungie's first game marathon.

HALO 3 IS THE END

the whole legendary ending shows what happens right before marathon the game begins. thought you would know.

I'm not a real big fan of Halo or GOW but I would like to see more blood. Like lets say you were about to go in with the gun w/saw and lay it on a guy but instead of coming down on the enemy @ the head you would start between the legs and then work up and wehn you finish the saw should had intestines and junk hanging off.

yeah like in dead space. I agree that would be a nice feature, that instead of just "downing" an opponent, being able to shoot them in the leg 2 prevent them from moving faster, if you shoot an arm that would force the player to use a pistol untill he/she found a place to heal their wounds (ie: Far Cry 2). That would add an interesting twist since if your group of 4 or 5 were in a firefight, you may have 1 or 2 ppl break off to go heal which would greatly cause the momentum to swing in either direction. I'd also like to see the locust fall victim to this as well. The whole "downed" and "revival" scheme in GOW2 really isn't all that "re-vamped" and doesn't provide any innovation. Cliffy B really dropped the ball I think in the overall production of this game, I know he doesn't like to be called that now, but quite frankly if I pay $80 for a collectors edt. or even $60 for the regular edt. then yeah I'm gonna call him Cliffy B whether he likes it or not. This game needs a MUCH better storyline and I'm sorry but Marcus I think is a MASSIVE P***Y compared to the main character of Unreal, so I think that they really need to develop Marcus better and create a storyline that is actually interesting, instead of completely boring and pointless. I pray that you go up against the Queen b/c her lil sidekick b**ch was an absolute joke. And how about a good boss battle or two or three? I mean come on, a giant fish isn't hard to beat and the ending was absolutly bollucks. Epic FAILURE in my eyes, but oh well, they got their money so why would they care?

I liked gears 2 except for two things.. the ending was very weak and far to easy compared to the first (or compared to any game really). And there is no public matches like GoW 1, its all ranked unless you find enough friends to make a private game. So you have to find a new game to play in every time and it takes too long every time. Just bring back the open public matches like in gears one where you search for a game and you get a list of games with your connectivity rating in bars next to them, it was so much better this way.

The Marathon trilogy is nothing more than a spiritual predecessor to the Halo franchise. The story itself isn't related to Halo. I'm guessing you've never actually played any of the Marathon games considering your suggesting that the main character is Spartan 117, when in fact the main character is a security officer aboard a spaceship called Marathon, not a planet. Bungie took many ideas from Marathon and incorporated them into Halo, but they aren't connected.

second, yes I know what a trilogy is, but that doesn't mean they can't make another trilogy ala Star Wars, there is a lot of content (prequel perhaps) that they could use to include MC in the storyline.

Also Bungie made the statements about Halo being done after 3 and they wanted to work on new projects, but what's the first thing they announce after the split with MS? that's right, a new HALO game. lol class dissmissed indeed :rolleyes:
