i had a 360 elite come in to me to be fixed the symptoms where.
..wired controllers will turn the 360 on but wont sync
..wireless controllers will not sync
i have seen lots of threads with this problem but no solutions that worked for me.
after a little investigation i found the problem was the sister/power board on the front of the 360.
if you remove the 360 case (this will void your warranty) you will see the sister board with the plastic led casing to the right of that is a small square within that, is the issue. in my case, it was damaged, caused by someone trying to open the case with a screw driver and damaging some componants within this area.
i replaced the sister /power board and the controllers syncd perfectly everytime.
