MW2 sells 4.7 million copies on first day

Reports from Activision are showing that Modern Warfare 2 has sold over 4.7 million copies on it's first day in just the U.S. and U.K. alone. Putting the estimated total at around $310 million, and growing.

For those of you who haven't picked up a copy yet, I highly recommend it. This is one of the best games ever.

The difference between Xbox and PS3 was about 2 to 1 in favor of the Xbox. Take that Sony!
Also, Tuesday was the biggest day on Xbox Live, EVER!

I went to get my copy the first day...during the day (not at a midnight release)...and there was a line out the door (way out the door) even at 10:30am...

The store said that there was a line at midnight that wrapped around the building! This is just at one store...imagine what the sales could have been if stores could ring up people faster!!! People don't like waiting sometimes...

Tell me about it...My wife doesn't like me playing while my son is awake....he's too little to see people getting shot...so, I ended up buying Need for Speed Shift to see if that would help, but, he likes it for a short period of time and then he's running around everywhere!

My wife is pregnant and going through nausea, so, my son needs my attention since she can't provide much.

lol....I can't play vids very easily unless it's late at night! Oh, and then this Sunday, I'm traveling to Los Angeles for a week...so, no gaming for me!!! I travel a lot, so, I'm used to not much gaming...but, don't get much either when I'm home!

Yeh i started in a small (reaaly small) game store on the friday before and they sell all there games early, (there is three of these shops in the WHOOOLE world)
Anyway, on friday we started selling MW2, And we took about $30,000

MW2 for xbox360 accounted for $16,000 of sales
MW2 for ps3 accounted for $2000

The rest was made up in consoles and accessories

You know, the only thing I don't like about this game, is now you can actually controll the helicopter. I mean in MW1 if you were out in the open or in a place the helicopter could see you and you it, you were dead, you had some sort of chance, but now it's easy mode for winning matches. Toss a few grenades get a couple kills find a nice cozy spot get 14 more easy kills and you get a nuke.

That put it ahead of EVERYTHING in entertainment. Movies, games, music, books. I dominated all.
