I don't actually know too much about this game. Are we a new guy or the old guy from the other fallout 3? Any word on what is happening in the story either?

You start off new.You won't use your old guy from Fallout 3.

Well, you start out as a new guy that has nothing to do with fallout 3 though this game is set a few years after fallout 3. As for the story, basically, it starts out as you being a mail carrier carrying a package en route to someone, half-way there you get shot in the head and left to die in a shallow grave while whoever shot you, runs off with the package you're carrying. You're then found by a robot and rehabilitated and by what I hear, the basis of the game is pretty much you wandering New Vegas trying to find out who shot you and what was in the package.
