I have been having a problem with my internet with my XBOX 360 latley. I have a 10m DSL line running into WRT54G. I have tried all three and everything I can find online but I still get disconnects and hangups. For instance today I cannot log in and play Battlefield 1943 and last night I could not long into XBOX live. I currently have the XBOX 360 in automatic for all wireless info and mt WRT54G with no DMZ or Port Forwarding only uPnP is enabled. Thanks for any help that you all can give! :cuss:

Maybe look at this thread. After searching on Google for a little bit I found it, seems like better answers than other threads I was finding.

Oh and I have a D-Link DIR-655, never ever had an issue connecting anything to it =)

Nice router choice, same one I got ;)
I've not really had any issues. Some games say 'open your NAT' etc, but it's never slowed down or caused me to not be able to join

Thanks for the help so far guys and as of yesterday I have not had any problems...so far. All I have in uPnP enabled in my WRT56G and the XBOX 360 on auto. That article didn't really say what was best but it did give port forwarding information in which I have tried before. Mabye it's time to upgrade my WRT54G to a N based router. Do I need a dual band N router or can a normal N router be used for wireless G devices as well? Any other assistance with the XBOX 360 and getting an open NAT would be appreciated :)

I would very highly recommend the one I have. The D-Link DIR-655. That last thing I said about it was almost completely true. Everything always connects easily except for my laptop but that was settings on the laptop. It's fixed now =). But it has 3 antennas, great signal through the house, now that it's in the center of the house I have a 1.5-2 MB/s connection all the time. I've never had an issue with a closed NAT, it puts out in bands A, B, G, and N. It's under 100 dollars online nowadays. So I really like this thing lol.
