It's most likely for the convenience of having the game right there for you to be able to purchase and use rather than going to the store. I don't buy G.o.D because I would rather have the disc, and I only have 20gbs lol.

all games on demand are priced at the MSRP. Just because one or two stores offer it for less means nothing as to what the actual MSRP is.

I remember one time they have Fable II for free on GoD but I didn't have enough space for it. :(
