View Full Version : What are you seeing that I'm not?

My viewing area is 109" wide (projector). When I play CoD and I see the killcam, I'm always amazed that with a screen as big as mine (it is 1080p) I can't see me in your sights. If I can't see me, how can you? Help me out here, Do you know the maps so well that you can tell a single pixel is out of place? What do you look for while you are running around? I'm not complaining I just want to know what to look for. I will admit I am a "tactical camper" and I take care to ensure good camouflage and lack of movement. I also use ghost pro and suppressed weapons so I am not on the mini-map. Just curious.

I actually prefer smaller screens, they're easier to get closer to which means the slightest movement I can see. With a smaller screen I can keep track of everything that is able to be seen without having to shift my eyes to much, which helps.

I wouldn't recommend anything bigger than 24 inches. It's just too much screen to have to pay attention to, at least with competitive games. Plus bigger isn't always better and having a smaller screen is less straining on the eyes.
Oh, and yes...it is that one pixel worth of movement that's letting me kill you. Camping also doesn't help. For me at least, after getting familiar and comfortable with the maps I can see things that are out of place. Whether it's colors that don't belong, a bush seeming fuller, or whatever.
Another thing I've noticed with a ton of players is that they don't look around their screens when playing. They are only staying focused on where their crosshair is at, the middle of the screen.
Awareness is the most important thing imo.

Couldn't have said it better other than the 24 inches. :p

For some reason, I want to say you sit a good distance away from your TV/Monitor? From about 2.2 ft from the TV, 24 inches is certainly a perfect size.

Yeah I'll agree a bigger screen is worse. Playing between a 52 and a 32, I do worse with the 52.

Thanks for your input guys I'll try shrinking my image size and see if that helps. BTW by tactical camper mean I still move around the map (from cover to cover) I don't spend the whole game in one spot and I don't run around in the open.
