I recently purchased a new 47" 1080p television for my living room. I moved my xbox to the new tv to see if I could notice an improvement in my Halo Reach graphics going from 720 to 1080. I couldn't notice much of a difference if any in how the game looked. The Halo box says it's 1080p but I suspect MS is just upscaling the games so they will work on a 1080p tv. Does anyone have any experience with this issue? I'm thinking 720p plasma is the way to go for gaming.

Well I think with Reach is that it doesn't have stunningly amazing graphics. Try playing the Crysis 2 demo between the two. Maybe even compare the two televisions with pictures of the screen next to each other.

You won't really see the difference between 720 and 1080 unless you're a serious videophile....even then...

There really isn't a HUGE difference with xbox games and DVD's, though I think if you compare Blu-Ray 1080p to 720p you'd find your differences there. That's just my opinion though, I saw a 1080p 50ish inch tv at best buy a few times playing a blu-ray movie. The differences between the 720p TV that I watched said movie on before and the 1080p tv playing a blu ray version of it, the 1080p version was leaps and bounds better looking in my unexpert opinion.

I thought the ninja was gonna jump out of the tv and start killing people.

Also keep in mind you will notice a HUGE difference if you compare a walmart brand tv to a real branded one.

OI, wassat appose to mean?

Walmart has some nice TV's, and albeit, terribad TV's, like the element I bought not too long ago and exchanged for a Vizio. Which also had some issues but I fixed it, kinda. It wasn't as huge of a deal as the horrible quality I got from the element. Don't hate on Walmart lol

I see the difference visually, I also see the difference between a full wallet, and an empty one. I can pay bills with the former :p.
