When can you preorder Xbox?

I'm new here... and I want to buy Xbox for my husband's b-day coming up in November. I know this game console will be impossible to come by so close to the release date, is there anywhere I can preorder it? Please help!!!

Piece of Advice,

Be careful when ordering from a store that is taking pre-orders before sept 1st. MS hasn't given permission yet for stores to allow preorders cuz the stores haven't yet received the number of consoles they're getting.

If you go to gamestop and you are 100,001 on the list and they are only given 100,000 boxes, you're out of luck.
