Stuck on planet HALO

Hello

We in uk have only just got the xbox.. so
don't blast me, I'm stuck on halo!
I'm stuck on the the 2nd level (on planet halo).

I've blasted everything that moves. And the
alien ships keep on droppin' the aliens.
I'm standing in the center where the pillar keeps throwing up a turquoise light.
But what am i supposed to do after that?

Plase tell me as I've mastered the art of eliminating the enemey with granades and needlers. And I keep running out of ammo.

Also does my Master Cheif character have a run option?
Cuz i might have a horde of aliens chasin' me and the guy is
trying to run with a turd in his pants. It's annoying!

just keep on killing the aliens and look for ammo around the premises from the dead aliens and marines. after you take on about 3 or 4 dropships (not at the same time-each one comes after you kill alll the aliens in the previous) a pelican will come and drop of a warthog. a little advice- don't stay in that base thing; i ran around on the ground throwwing grenades at the entrace of the dropships when the aliens got out and this helped greatly.
