Hi guys,
I'm new to this site and new to the xbox. I have an HDTV and I am wondering what if anything I need or should get for better visual performance from my xbox. I have seen several different sets of cables, but I can't tell one from the other and the lady at EB really wasn't any help. Please let me know what you think. Thanks.

the best thing you can get to improve the visual quality on an hdtv, is component video cable (assuming your tv has component video input, which most, if not all hdtvs have).

DEFINATELY get Component video cables! Microsoft has a set called the "High Definition A/V Pack" and Monster has one called "Monster 400" cables. Either one of those will bring you video brilliancy.

I also have an HDTV (recent purchase) and I ended up getting the Monster 400s only because they were on sale and I got a good deal. I wouldn't have bought them at full price because they are kind of expensive. $60 is the regular retail price...I got them for $35 :D
