Is it possible to fly in the first Halo level?

After you crash land on the Halo their are 2 flying banshees that come after you. Is it possible to kill the guys inside and fly in that level? I have never done it but always wonder if it's possible. Does anybody know?

the only way to kil the guy in the banshee is to blow it up. so there is no way to get one unless it is just siting there unmanned

Actually, I got the elite to pop out one of the banshees. If you try to get in you can't. I flipped it over and all, then I tried to get in but it wouldn't let me. The reason why they do that is because glitches appear when you are flying and you freeze in mid-air. So I guess you can only fly around in 2 levels.

A similliar thing happened to me! One of the Banshees crashed and the elite popped out...then I killed em, ran up to the banshee flipped it...but then as it was flipped on me and killed me :(:mad:

I got him stuck on a rock. Then I meleed the banshe till it fell over. Killed the elite, flipped the banshee. Then it I tried to get in....no luck!

Like the 2nd time I played this level, I killed the pilot with my pistol somehow and the Banshee landed on the grass undamaged, but I couldn't get in :(. I guess it was just beginners luck?!
