Why don't you simply check http://www.xboxaddict.com and read the news articles. When something new happens with Halo 2 they will post the news on the board.
How does that sound? 16 MONTHS is a long time from now. Don't burn yourself and everyone else out about it.

There is no WMP9 yet and I doubt you'll need it to watch the trailer.
