Im tring to get to Xbox Live through a router and my DNS wont confirm..... any help here? also Im having trouble with my router picking up an IP address.....

Hmmm...I'm not sure...unless it has a built in firewall that you have to disable for some reason....not sure.
Are you sure you have it hooked up correctly?
From your Modem, you have to use a CAT 5 patch cable (not crossover) and link it into the uplink port on the router. Then, from an available port on the router, use another CAT 5 patch cable and plug it into your ethernet card on your CPU. Then, from another available port, use another CAT 5 patch cable and plug the other end into your XBox. It should work fine.
What sort of router is it?
