Interesting. I don't see what advantage it creates though. If they release them every week I think it would be better because people would be coming into the store frequently to buy things and not just all on one day...
stocking everything for one day is a common tactic because people will buy other things at that time.. psychologically..
true story.. i know how best buy operates, i have a friend that works there.. you'd be surprised how they try and control your thoughts.. right down to the choice of music playing in the store on certain days, certain weather conditions.. all designed to make you feel more like buying.
eh, it says on that little paper they are trying to avoid the pandomonium that happened on the release date.so i guess they want to have enough to make people happy this time around
Well, they are stockpiling for 2 reasons. One is that everyone will come on that day, so they can expect lot of revenue on that one specific day. Two, they are going to have to be able to handle all those customers, so they the need to manage their overhead (employees to help , managers to organize and such) :hump:
yes. they want their best salesmans working that day. So if you limit it to a day with your best sales people working then it really adds accessories and such.
I am going to guess that Microsoft has something to do with Best Buy's decision to stock pile...just a guess, though....
I'll be waiting dec 18th for an xbox 360.
