Who got an PS2?

Here's a dumb question.."Who actually got a PS2?" I know I'll get some dumb answers...LOL And what games did you get? I figure we can talk about the PS2, since the XBox is about 6-10 months away now.

A good friend of mine got a PS2 yesterday. I got to play a couple of games on it. We played Dead or Alive 2, Ready to Rumble 2 and SSX. Out of those games SSX was the best. SSX is a snow boarding game that was kind of fun to play. You could get some serious air and pull off outrageous tricks. DOA2 was alright, but it was to short and had a terrible story to it. RTR2 had some nice character design, they all had their own fighting sytle which was cool. The controls were off, I mean they sucked! But watching you or your opponent fall down after a series of vicious blows, was a laugh riot.
So if you have to get a PS2 to help you cope until the release of the Xbox. The game to get would be SSX. http://www.xboxaddict.com/ubb/smile.gif

i try'd the ps2 i didn't like it that much dreamcast is my fav console right now untill xbox comes out =). i try'd tekken tag it was alot slower then doa2 for dreamcast and soul caliber for dreamcast(not that dos2 and SC is slow just tekken tag is alot slower and ttt had some delays in the controles) and ridge racer was ok the cars looked good but the background and the roads where really ugly and the jaggs in the game. i am staying with my dreamcast right now

I saved up some cake and bought a PS2 and while I can't say I'm totally dissatisfied with it, it definately has some problems. I'm debating on whether or not a review of the PS2 should be posted up here as an article seeing as we're an XBOX site and all, but I feel that there are a lot of people out there thinking that the PS2 is the bomb, when in fact it's more of an M-80. What do you guys think? Review it or just bite my tongue till the XBOX comes out????

The PS2 is a pretty solid little system, but I must agree with Kevin, it's nice but I didn't find it to be a show stopper. The DOA2 game impressed me the most as far as the fighting games go, they did a good job with feel on that one. Tekken didn't do it for me, I think becouse the characters didn't move naturally enough for my taste. SSX was cool, nice fast paced racing game. The RTS (Can't remember the name, Japenese civil war game) was, well, it just was. http://www.xboxaddict.com/ubb/wink.gif But as ]EviL[ said, I've heard from lots of hard core game players that they still like their DreamCast much better than the PS2. I think discussion of the consoles (comparisons and such) is a good idea, but would hate to see those spamming wars like you see at the MSXbox forums. But..that's also all in the moderation as well!

When I first heard about the PS2 I though that I would get one on launch day. I already had a Dreamcast to play and a PSX so I waited.

Well there are many AAA titles on the DC and more coming so I changed my mind and thought I'd wait until the price of the PS2 gets cut in half. Now I have actually played one for a while at Babbage's and I must say that I'm not impressed with it.

I might still get one someday when they are a lot cheaper and there are a few good games on it. Of course by that time the Xbox will be out and it will blow the PS2 away, so why bother?

I'm guessing that I will never get a PS2 at all, and thats really strange for me cause I have had every videogame system since the Intellivision, if anyone here is old enough to remember that far back. Yes, thats when dinosaurs walked the earth! heh

I don't think you should post a review of PlayStation 2. It could very easily be seen as a biased attempt to bash the PS2 (even if it isn't). Those console wars can get pretty nasty. Well, just my opinion on this matter. http://www.xboxaddict.com/ubb/smile.gif

The PS2 is the FIRST system I did not get on it's launch day.

I just can't see the justification for it's purchase. There are too many AAA titles out, and coming out for the Dreamcast, which will easily tide me over till the Xbox arrives.
