I was playing Halo on co-op and a couple of times I told my partner to throw a plasma grenade on me and then I immediately ran for the nearest elite. It was pretty effective. One time, when he threw a bomb on me, I was looking on the wrong half of the screen and ran towards him. It was so funny.
i usually just throw it at the grunts and they go to a big group yelling get it off and it blows everyone up!:D
we don't really use suicide bombers we just send one of are guys in "me or my friend" and he goes beserk guns firin gernades a flyin and just mayhem i found it's better then attachin a bomb to your buddy.
P.S i prefer using tactics over suicide
