Talking New screens: The Fellowship of the Ring

Universal Interactive releases new screenshots from its game adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien's novel. Universal Interactive has released new screenshots from The Fellowship of the Ring, an action adventure game based on the popular book of the same name. These new shots illustrate various parts of the Shire, a land populated by hobbits. In the game, players will be able to follow the adventures of three different characters: Gandalf, Frodo, and Aragorn. Each character will have different skills and abilities. Players will be able to engage in melee combat, set traps, pick locks, and use magic spells. There will also be 28 different types of enemies in the game, as well as boss characters.
The Fellowship of the Ring is scheduled for release on the Xbox in Q4 2002.

I dont know what kind of stuff you are smoking, but the movie kicked some serious azz. The game could be a different story we won't know til it comes out. The screens I have seen look pretty sweet, but whats the deal with the little crosshair thingie? I haven't seen it tin any of the other screens I have seen and frankly it looks kinda ghey. Who is this being published by, by the way?

Is the world completely empty of humanoids? I don't see anything living except plants.

The movie is AMAZING... if you've read and loved the books. I can understand how anyone else might not fully comprehend everything that transpires. The depth of the trilogy cannot be completely explored in nine hours.

I've read the trilogy at least six times, (and The Hobbit even more) and it was absolutely incredible how images, which previously only existing in my imagination, were brought to life with such clarity and vision. It felt as if I was remembering a lucid dream.

    Pure Euphoria!

However, as an armchair (or in my case, recliner) film critic I insist that films be viewed as independent works and not be judged, nor rely on previous experience with the original novel(s). In this sense, I believe the movie fails to accomplish its goals.

For example, it is simply not possible to tell the complete history of the ring in twenty minutes of narrative. The relationship between Bilbo, Gandalf, and The Ring is taken for granted. In fact, all of the characters come off as shallow.

I have higher hopes for the game based on the books than I do a game based on the movies.
