Default Which would be a more powerfull statement by Microsoft...

I know E3 is going to be a major turning point for consoles this year.

This is going to be the foundation of who will be in the preverbial "Drivers Seat" come Christmas.

So what would be more important to hear....

A detailed & complete schedule of XBOX LIVE, Dates, Cost,Games, etc...

    OR

A price cut on software & periferals. (Dropping the standard $49.99 to say $39.99 accross the board)

With the resent Price volley back & forth, now Sony is "rumored" to be dropping the standard software pricetag, and may announce it at E3.

    So which is it.......

I think it would help M$ out a lil bit if they dropped the prices on the software/hardware. I think that it is totally cool that someone has finally gotten to Sony enough to make them change strategies, cuz they were pretty lame for awhile. If Sony does drop the prices, they can afford it and be able to get away with it more than M$ can.

The most powerful statement MS could make is to do both of these, and more. I'm seriously expecting to ditch the rabit and instead pull an elephant out of their hat. Like I've said before, hang on to your jaw so it doesn't it the ground too hard...

Most people aren't that excited about online play - hence the PS2 is selling better than the Xbox. So lower prices for Xbox software would be a huge plus to Microsoft, although they do make all their money off of software and lowering prices would mean publishers take less money, and so publishers would probably stop bringing over so many games.
But my PS2-toting friend was jealous because I picked up Oddworld for $30. He was starting to say how Xbox games are way cheaper than PS2 games, and they look better and you don't need a memory card. He was starting to wish he'd got an Xbox instead... A lower price for software would be a very powerful tool.

    Default X-Box LIVE!

Definately X-Box Live...why should they cut software prices?

I want to see a detailed plan: dates, prices, games etc.

But speaking outside of the poll's dichotomy, I think the best show would be detailed news about Project Ego (or as detailed as possible considering that it's coming out Fall 2002 which could easily turn into Spring 2003), a plan or approximate timeline for Halo II or atleast an announcement, info on GTA3 if there is any etc.

    What do ya'll think?

this is definitely the biggest statement theycan make.

if they cut software prices to 40, that would help them sell a few more systems, but xbox live will be very prevalent in the long run and overall more helpful to m$

If Xbox Live is not free, I simply will not have anything to do with it. If you buy the software, the Xbox Live service should be included in the price of the software. Why? Several reasons: 1) I can play latest computer games for free over the 'net, 2) I do not have as much time to play the Xbox and video games in general as I have in the years past, and 3) It would be an added cost to my already grossly expensive broadband line, 4) I have tried third-party software and can sucessfully play other people on the 'net for free through that.

There's a very good reason why they should charge a fee for Xbox online. But seeing how you won't pay for it anyhow, you obviously don't want to read about it. Let me just say that it's going to be the most streamlined, user-oriented online service ever. Think playing pc games online is easy? You haven't seen anything yet. Like chatting with friends online but hate configuring your microphone? Every Xbox online game will support the voice commander. Trust me, it'll be worth every cent.

I think for gamers who care about techonology and pushing the industry forward, the Xbox live announcement is probably the bigger announcement. However, that encompasses all people who have already bought an Xbox. Before the Xbox becomes a huge force in the industry, Microsoft has to sell more units. To do that, lowering software prices would be the safest and surest bet. Then, the Xbox live announcement would appeal to gamers looking at a new experience.

xbox online is 50.00 a year, that's not as bad as i thought it would be. so that's not big news.
but 49.99 per game is focking bullshiot! i think all new games no matter how good hey are or how many discs are in the package should cost 39.99 TOPS! all games that have been out for 3 months or more sould be 29.99. and games that suck should just be pulled from shelves instead of trying to sell them for 19.99.

BTW- just bought NBA INSIDE DRIVE 2002 USED FOR $19.99, IN PERFECT CONDITION! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA SCREW YOU 49.99 DOLLAR GAME MAKERS I GOT MY COPY FOR 19.99!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Return to Castle Wolfenstein = THE BEST GAME EVER!
