Default HUGE gaming show on ESPN's "Outside the Lines" tonight.

Hey guys, Outside the Lines on ESPN tonight is having a HUGE special on video gaming and sports. You should check it out! It's totally about gaming.

It comes on ESPN at 6:30 Central Standard Time and I think has a few other airing times tonight and Monday.

    Here's a link to a preview of tonight's show...

Yeah, I know they talk to a few of the Xbox people according to their website preview, and they go in depth with NFL Fever 2002.

BTW-is it on ESPN or ESPN 2? ESPN 2 usually has stuff like this...

I doubt it, they're just talking about how gaming relates to sports.

Just finished watching it. Pretty good, although I was ****ed off about the 2nd segment, where they talked about the evil influence of video games on our poor impressionable children. What crap. I guess it's a PC rule, if you're talking about video games, you are obligated to talk about the corrupting effect of violent images on children. Blah blah. I get really tired of hearing that.

But the rest of the show was pretty good. I was suprised to see Xbox featured -- nice zoom0in and discussion of online features, plus a little demo! I liked seeing motion capture being done, and I liked the feature about the tournaments (where does the prize money come from?)...the whole show in general was good in the way it moved away from the "gamer as geek" stereotype, showing all the atheletes gaming, etc.

The Indianapolis Colts Quaterback-Peyton Manning v. Seattle Seahawcks Q-B. The Seahawks QB won, 63-40. The played with the "XBox Communicator." But as I mentioned earlier, it looked fast, easy, fun, and lag free! It was cool, cause they were talkin trash and just having fun!

    I am sooooo exited!
