E3 2002: Outrun 2 News
Yu Suzuki drops a nugget on Outrun 2.

May 23, 2002 - IGN had a chance to speak with AM2 head Yu Suzuki today, covering several different topics related to the Sega development team's future work. Particularly interesting was some news regarding Outrun 2, the upcoming arcade revival of the classic racing game. Suzuki noted that the game, which will run on Xbox-based arcade hardware, is to bear a license for "all consumer Ferrari models," -- i.e., everything except the company's F1 racers. Sounds like a perfect stylistic match to us, and it means we won't have to just call it "the red car" this time around.

For a second there I thought this said "Outcast 2 news". I was all "that's totally crazy, I'm totally clicking the link" then I realized it's only Outrun. Sigh.
