    i spoke last night to a major indepenent video game store owner (three stores in the n.y.c. metro area).....his wholesale distributor has informed him that the Xbox will probably NOT make the release date....due to a lack of systems.....the wholesaler gave NO new release date.
    it isn't XERO unless it starts with an "X".....

    Im guessing its just a rumor, started once again by that analyst. From all reports, the xbox WILL ship out 800,000 units

    I don't think 100,000 a week is an unobtainable figure. I don't see how they won't hit the figures they say they will barring a production catastrophe.

    The only thing that i know is that when i went to the Xbox Exposed event in Kansas City this past monday is that the person telling us about it mentioned that 1.5 million would ship through the holidays and somewhere in the neighborhood of 100k or so units per week. They would take 8 days from final assembly to reach the US stores. BUT, she also stated that those 1.5 million would be through the Holiday SEASON, which she stated as being the end of January. So its not 1.5 million through December, but through January. If you figure an 8 day delay from finished to actually beeing in stores, thats 1.4 milion in stores or in the US.

    400k reach the US in January
    400k reach the US in December
    about 200k reach the US after launch?
    about 400k at launch?

    still traveling to the US = 100k units created the last week in January.
    Those numbers are assuming that they can only make 100k a week, which they can actually make more than that.

    Now I'm just stating the Holiday season as she told us. That was news to me as I had been assuming that it was the end of December that they were talking about when they mentioned through the holidays. Oops.
