A Cool Glitch in the Game

Well, I accidentally found a good way to get some good armor. I am a mage, so my unarmored is what I rely on, but I got a helmet that when used casts spell absorption for 60 second and bound curiass for 60 seconds. Well, the armor had around a 60 armor rating, so I decided I didn't want to wear it (even though it was +5 constant effect to 4-5 different attributes) so I took it off and dropped it on the floor. Then I decided what the heck and picked it up and put it back on for an experiment. Well, I have had it on for many hours of gameplay and it still hasn't disappeared. I guess the game erased the one minute timer when I dropped it, so now it is permanent.

Yea, I am not sure if it will work for all bound items, but it has in this case.

I tried to drop my bounded sword and couldnt. Was your helmet equipped when you dropped it?

Yea, the helmet is equipped and when I cast its spell I was given the absorb magica and the bound curiass so I just dropped the curiass. I haven't tried to do it again to see if it will work all the time or not, but I will this evening when I get home from work.

Yeah this worked for me also. The devil encephalopod helmet or whatever. I cast the helmet, it gave me the bound curiass (the helmet is still in inventory also). Then I dropped the cuiriass and sold the helmet to creeper. After about 10 hours of gaming, I still have that cuiriass. Man It rocks. It weighs 0.0,and has an armor rating of 80. I used that armor and brute forced my way into the Redoran vaults in Vivec. Before this armor, an ordinator killed me in one hit. With this armor, I succeded in killing two dudes and 4 ordinators!!!! I couldn't gate this to work for weapons though. It won't let you drop them. I am currently scouring the country for bound armor. If any one knows of any items that summon bound armor, especially gauntlets or shoulder pieces, post them here or PM me.

So what do i do?

cast the sword, now when i look in my inventory i see the original sword and the unbound sword.
Drop the unbound sword than pick it back up and it should stay?

That is the general method....if it will let you drop the sword. I have only tried this on the one curiass that I had, so I can't say for sure that it will work for you.

Yea i did it befoe i was just playing around i didnt save it. I might o it now because im a vampire and i want to not have weight so i can take advantage of my speed and jump abilities. But can u repair the stuff?

You cannot drop summoned items. Did you drop the helmet that had the magical properties bound and absorb, or did you drop the bound helmet, because I know you cannot do that...? Explain so people can understand next time. Tell us what you dropped exactly.

You just get a cheap helm enchant it so it will sumon something then u drop the cheap helmand u got a good helm that weighs nothing. i did this once but didnt save. but can u repair these items is what i wanna know.

Who sells the bound armor spells...I only have helm, longsword, and dagger...

OK here is as simple as I can lay it out for what I did.

1) got an awesome helmet that has the effect of bound curiass when cast.

2) cast the spell to get the bound curiass which has no weight, an armor of 80 and magical properties.

3) drop the bound curiass

4) pick it up

5) re-equip it and it will be there for good.

If you bound and item, go into your inventory, select it and hit X to drop it, it will say You cannot drop magical items! or something like that...

I just told you how u get a sword or something u put a enchantment on it and you drop the normal item notthe bound and then u got it forever and it weighs o.o. i just told u that a couple posts ago.
