Xbox has perfectly set themselves up. PS2 will not have a system for three more years. In the next three years xbox will easily be the dominating system. So in 2006 when the next systems come out (xbox2, ps3), people will want xbox cause it will have recently been on top.

MS is counting that X-Box Live will give X-Box the edge it needs to beat the other consoles in 3 years time. When/If X-Box Live is established well enough, then X-Box 2 will have smooth sailing.
