Who closes threads and why?

Can I ask why some threads get closed (not containing and "bad" material) and who closes them? What justifies a post being closed? Quite frankly, I am getting a little irritated. Do we have a Gustapo here at XBA??

I am referencing my post entitled "Top 10 Xbox rumors - Stupid" that was closed for an unknown reason.

The monks of xbox addict decide what stays or goes, it’s a bit irritating at first but pays off in the end. Think of it this way, at some point, someone decided we need traffic lights.

I agree to some extent, but I feel you should have a good reason for shutting down someone's post such as (profanity, vulgarity, duplicate, etc...). Posts should not be closed if there is nothing wrong with them just cause a mod feels like doin so. If this is the case, what's the point in taking the time to post.

either theres to much fighting or nudity,ect.

Like I said, I agree, but there was none of that in my thread, it is almost like they closed it because they did not like the content.

It really aggravated the hell out of me.

I started a thread months ago about an idea for a porno game where you get kudos for your performance and it will star the girls of DOA3 and possibly lora croft, It was scratched four post’s into it. But now, you’re starting to read things like, Sex in games and nudity, look at gta3 with the prostitutes.

It’s frustrating to have your ideas governed and no one should, but if we do it in a more diplomatic way, I’m sure it will be tolerated. It works for me.

i will close any thread down that appears to be starting a flame war. Additionally, i will close a thread if i see that people can't reply in a civilized manner without all the swearing and cursing.

I dont feel like going through and editing hundreds of post, some of which have so many swear words in it that its just a bunch of ***** *** *****.

And for your info, i closed your thread. It was only creating hostility IMO.

For future reference, if you have something like that to post, just post a short quote, and a link to the website. Thanks.

So from what I understand, I am basically wasting my time and so is everybody else by posting threads on this site seeing as they can be closed by Mods who "In their opinion" see fit to do so, despite the fact that I respect the rules.

I know i'm not the only one that gets sick of seeing threads about xbox sucking. Even if you didn't write it, it still gets old. Do a search and see how many you can find that relate to xbox beeing bad, or sucking....

You posts was different as i'd not seen a "rumor" thread about why xbox was bad.....

So, here you go, since i opened your other thread, this one is no longer necessary and will be closed.

If you wish to complain about me or another mod, we'd (the mods) all appreciate it if anybody who has a problem, would private message us instead of using the forums. Thanks.
